Authors: HUANG Hu, ZHAO Hongwei
PP: 1980~1986
Abstract: The development of nanoindentation and nanoscratch test was discussed. Components and the theory of the test device were analyzed. Based on these, the work principle, performance requirements and calibrations of the loading sensor and displacement sensor for the test were analyzed as the most important things. Calibration experiments of two kinds of sensors were done. The experiment data was processed with the least squares method. Curves and equations of linear fitting were obtained and their linear correlation coefficient R2 was close to 1 which showed that the loading sensor and displacement sensor all had high linearity. The stabilities and reliabilities of the two sensors were evaluated by the rate of slope deviation and intercept deviation defined. Based on those works, the nanoindentation test for a kind of glass was carried out via the device with the sensors calibrated, and the relation curves between normal load and penetration depth were obtained.

PP: 1972~1979
Abstract: Because traffic systems have complex, stochastic, non-linear and distributed characteristics, Multi-Agent technology provides traffic simulation with a new research mode. Based on the analysis of a real traffic system, a vehicle Agent, a street Agent, an intersection Agent, a traffic-light Agent and a vehicle-generation Agent are constructed. Not only the structures, functions and the inner decision mechanism of each Agent, but also the interaction among Agents, are researched profoundly in the paper. Based on the constructed Agent model, an intelligent traffic simulation system is built to simulate a real traffic system exactly. A realization of the proposed intelligent traffic system is also built upon a VC++ 6.0 platform by adopting an object-oriented idea and a multi-thread technology.

PP: 1965~1971
Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of fault detection filter design for a class of networked control systems (NCSs). Under the assumptions of network-induced time delay being unknown but bounded, packet dropouts and packets out of sequence being unavoidable, a system model for NCSs is firstly introduced in the continuous-time domain. Then an observer-based H∞ fault detection is formulated and, by applying the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, a delay-dependent sufficient condition on the existence of the H∞ fault detection filter is derived in terms of matrix inequality. Furthermore, an algorithm is proposed to get a feasible solution to the H∞ fault detection filter gain matrices in terms of (linear matrix inequalities LMIs) using a cone complementary technology.

PP: 1958~1964
Abstract: In view of the semiconductor absorption fiber-optic temperature sensor’s poor stable precision and dynamic characteristic, a new composite temperature measurement system base on ANN (artificial neural network) is designed using fiber-optic temperature sensor and its ANN inversion dynamic compensator. High precision data acquisition card is used for data acquisition, through enough samples training, an effective BP neural network can be established. By combining it with the differentiator, the ANN inversion dynamic compensator can be established, and by cascading it with the fiber-optic temperature sensor, a composite temperature measurement system can be formed. Experiment result indicates that the system has higher stable precision and quicker response speed. The stable precision can reach ±0.6℃, and the response speed can reach 4s.

PP: 1949~1957
Abstract: Tracking control problem of nonlinear underactuated ball and plate system is studied in this paper. Trajectory tracking controller for the ball and plate system is constructed using backstepping design. And torque is used as the control input. Both centrifugal force and coupling are considered and cancelled completely in the recursive design of the tracking controller rather than centrifugal force only. Global asymptotic stability of the ball and plate system is achieved by the backstepping design. And the proposed tracking controller is evaluated by simulations.

Abstract: A molecular hyperspectral imaging device was developed to study the leukemic blood cells of human. As the molecular hyperspectral images have hundreds of wavelength bands and large amount of data, it is very important to perform the dimension reduction process before intelligent recognition and analysis. In this paper, an adaptive genetic algorithm is applied for band selection form the molecular hyperspectral images of blood cells. Experiment results show that the new algorithm is prior to the simple genetic algorithms with the convenience to better understanding and diagnosis.

Authors: ZHOU Hanying, WANG Yongji
PP: 1937~1942
Abstract: Echo state network (ESN) is proposed as a novel recurrent neural network (RNN) model as well as a novel learning method. What distinguishes it from traditional RNNs is its dynamic reservoir which is comprised of a large number of processing elements which are sparsely connected with each other. Regulate the weights according to some simple constraints can guarantee the echo state property of the net which endues the net with the ability to save previous inputs and outputs, in this way this model can approximate nonlinear dynamic systems. Furthermore its training method is quite easy. In this paper, it is used for the modeling of brain cortical signals. The inputs are spiking signals recorded form the neurons in the motor cortex of a monkey while the outputs are the corresponding trajectories the monkey moves from the centre to one of eight targets in a 3D imaginary cube. The test results reveal that ESN can get satisfactory consequences in translating the monkey’s motor cortical signals into the desired trajectories.

PP: 1931~1936
Abstract: Aiming at the influences of neuron gain 1/u0 of the output function in Hopfield neural network on the convergent dynamic characteristics of the network, and the influences of parameter β used for controlling decay rate of self-feedback connecting weight on the chaos dynamic characteristics of the network in the chaos network, the paper proposes to introduce a time-variant neuron gain factor 1/[λ+εi(t)] into the output function of the chaos neural network model for correcting expression of the self-feedback connecting weight, so as to enrich the dynamic characteristics of the neural network. The simulation results show that the optimization chaos neural network gets better chaos searching ability and speeds up the stability convergence rate of the original algorithm at the same time.

PP: 1920~1930
Abstract: This paper analyzed concrete application of binary decision diagram (BDD) technique in fault tree analysis (FTA). Because there were some disadvantages that the FTA with traditional method could only get cut-sets of top event, and normal non-intersection strategy was too cumbersome, the notable advantage of BDD technique in FTA based on Shannon decomposition was analyzed, which was with requirements that the structure function and its cut-sets with simplified non-intersection form of fault tree should be realized at one time. The recursive technique used for realizing BDD of top-event was researched in detail which was based on analyzing the principles and methods of BDD technique, and further more, a key technique, i.e. inheritance technique was used to form non-intersection cut-sets. Finally, an example was taken to interpret the reasons why the BDD technique was superior to method of traditional FTA.

PP: 1914~1919
Abstract: To decrease unfairness between flows (TCP/UDP) with different hop counts in wireless Ad hoc network, a cross-layer media access control (MAC) backoff algorithm is proposed. Contention window was set dynamically for each packet based on the hop count information, which is acquired from network layer. The success probability of packets in big hop count flows was greatly improved, and unfairness between traffics with different hop counts was decreased effectively. Simulation results showed that the algorithm effectively balanced network resource occupation of data flows with different hop counts without influencing total throughout of the network.

PP: 1909~1913
Abstract: An algorithm to uniquely identify amplitude modulation (AM) broadcasting signal was proposed. By analyzing the AM signal’s characteristics, the algorithm defined two parameters: one was the correlation of spectrum of upper and lower bands, and the other was the correlation of signal spectrum and envelope spectrum. The results of simulation based on HF standard channel model showed that the two parameters were robust to noise and channel interference. This algorithm can work effectively under the real circumstance.

Authors: WANG Lei, WANG Li, SONG Mei
PP: 1903~1908
Abstract: In the heterogeneous wireless network environment, when the mobile node handovers in the network, the authentication process will bring about a serious delay to the communication, even cause interruption. Based on the latest EAP re-authentication mechanism and its related key management framework, and by analysis on the problem of cross-domain authentication, a new EAP pre-authentication mechanism is proposed, which contains the strong advantage of the EAP re-authentication. Considering the combination of these two mechanisms, a synergy authentication strategy used in both intra-domain handover and inter-domain handover is also proposed in this paper. Comparing with the existed EAP methods, this synergy strategy reduces the authentication signaling overhead and the total delay in handover process.

Title: Adaptive LDPC decoder for multipath channels
Authors: XIAO Yang1, HU Wei1, LEE Moon Ho
PP: 1894~1902
Abstract: Existing low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes decoding exhibits poor bit error rate (BER) performance (BER may be over 25%) for multipath channel (MPC). To solve the problem, this paper proposes an adaptive LDPC decoding system, which is cascaded by two parts: adaptive equalizer and LDPC decoder. In this scheme, adaptive equalizer resorts to the training sequence transmitted from transmitter, removes the multipath interference (MPI), then for the received signal processed by the equalizer, LDPC decoder can work as in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and exhibits good BER performance. Therefore the transmitter requires no re-transmitting the signals ruined by MPI and un-decoded to the receiver. The simulations show that the proposed decoding system is feasible to decode the data flow to be transmitted in MPC.

PP: 1884~1888
Abstract: In cognitive radio networks, all unauthorized users must keep silence on the spectrum band what they are sensing with the traditional spectrum sensing methods. The longer the silence is, the lower the efficiency of communications is. This paper provides a continuous spectrum sensing method. The silent time is canceled in this method. With the use of this method, the unauthorized users can sense the spectrum even if they are communicating with each other. This method not only improves the communication efficiency, but also reduces the sensing time and enhances the performance of spectrum sensing.

PP: 1869~1874
Abstract: This paper analyzed advantages and disadvantages of traditional capacitive transimpedance amplifier (CTIA) unit circuit amplifier and proposed an improved CTIA unit circuit with a load of cascode current mirror. The sample circuit introduces the correlated double sampling (CDS) technique. The improved circuit can make the detector bias more stable and increase the linearity and injection efficiency. The amplifier has been designed with reversed W/L in order to obtain low power. The CDS technique can reduce the kT/C noise engendered by sample switch. Simulation results based on 0.5 μm DPTM CMOS technology show that the stability of the detector bias of the improved circuit is the best. Its injection efficiency and linearity are increased. In addition, due to the simple structure of the improved circuit and its perfect performance of technology deviations, it is very suitable for the great infrared focal plane arrays.
