Authors: XU Min, LIU Yong, WANG Xiaoyan, QIAO Rong
PP: 1486~1491
Abstract: In this paper, four different fusion algorithms such as Brovey, high-pass filtering (HPF), principal component analysis (PCA) and PCA replacement of wavelet transform were compared when the panchromatic and multi-spectral images of Quickbird were merged. It used mean value, standard deviation, signal-to-noise ratio, information entropy, average gradient, correlation coefficient and deviation index to evaluate the quality of fusion. With consideration of the spectral information fidelity, information content and clarity, the experiment indicates that PCA is the best fusion algorithm and PCA replacement of wavelet transform is better than Brovey and HPF, thus the suitable fusion method for Quickbird data was screened out.

Authors: WANG Guangjun, FU Meichen, XIAO Qiuping, WANG Zeng
PP: 1463~1468
Abstract: This paper presents the spatial extent, magnitude and temporal behavior of grassland desertification caused by urban expansion. The selected test site, Huolinguole city, is a grassland city located in northeast China. A time-series of Landsat TM images covering a period of 20 years (1987~2006) were used. The built-up area of the city, grassland desertification indicators and grassland desertification degree information were extracted based on BP neural network and spectral mixture model, and the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics were analyzed. The results of the studies indicated that there was a significant increase in urban expansion from 1987 to 2006, and the similar trend was observed in the temporal magnitude behavior of the severe grassland desertification around the built-up area of the city; the severe grassland desertification was always in shape of triangle around the built-up area of the city, and developed to the east quickly with the help of monsoon; and there was a positive correlation between the built-up area of the city and the area of severe desertification, so the built-up area of the city could be used as an important assessment and prediction indicator for grassland desertification due to urban expansion.

Authors: WANG Jiandi, KE Zhengyi
PP: 1456~1462
Abstract: The existing problem of map spot area calculation on ellipsoid surface in relevant regulations is analyzed in this paper. On the basis of the analysis, it’s verified that the essential condition to use the relevant regulations directly is that points on digital line thematic graph of land use status must be inserted on each side of polygon with distance between adjacent points not over 70 m. In order to verify reliability of the above condition, an example of area calculation of Zhejiang province is introduced.

Title: Research on medium-long baseline solution method only using Fr(φ)
Authors: LI Zhenghang, QU Xiaochuan, GONG Xiaoying
PP: 1450~1455
Abstract: In the traditional baseline solution methods, the tasks of cycle slips detection and restoration as well as integer ambiguity determination are very important and complicated, which can be negligible in the new baseline solution method only using Fr(φ). In this method, dual-frequency observation can not be adopted to correct ionospheric delay, so it can only be used in the solution of short baseline. For solving this problem, the method uses glass insulating material (GIM) provided by international GNSS service (IGS) to correct the ionospheric delay and achieves good result in the solution of medium-long baseline. The results indicate that when computing global positioning system (GPS) control network with 31-107 km side lengths using 24 h observation data and the above method, the accuracy of medium-long baseline can reach to 0.2×10-6.

PP: 1446~1449
Abstract: This paper introduces a water plugging process injecting degassed oil into water yielding layer, which creatively applies oil and gas reservoir relative permeability theory. This approach is characterized by simple water-plugging constructions, easy access to water-plugging agents, and low water-plugging cost. This paper introduces a ground construction technique, injection-production pipe in the oil well and an integral injection-production technology that injecting degassed oil in the oil well when the water cut of the oil well is tall and producing oil by the same pipe line, During the mid-and-late oil developing period, this approach is adopted in water plugging and plays a great role in liberating the productivity of the mid-and-low permeability oil layer, decreasing water production in oil fields, and enhancing the final oil recovery in oil fields.

Title: Effect of layer charge of montmorillonite and dosage of alkylammonium on the gelating property of the organo-montmorillonite
Authors: LV Xianjun, QIU Jun, CUI Xueqi
PP: 1436~1439
Abstract: Organo-montmorillonite (OM) samples were synthesized with two montmorillonite samples of different layer charge and under different dosages of dodecyltrimethylammonium (DTA) chloride, and the viscosities of the OM gels prepared in the mixture of dimethylbenzene and ethanol were measured. Results show that the layer charge and the dosage of DTA are the key factors influencing the OM gel viscosity. Higher OM gel viscosity was obtained with lower layer charge montmorillonite. In order to achieve a maximum OM gel viscosity, the dosage of DTA should be maintained at an optimal level.
