Authors: LIU Chengyi, YANG Luodan, WU Chongyun, ZHU Ling, DUAN Rui, ZHANG Quanguang
PP: 1780-1785
Abstract: Neither needle nor laser acupuncture is superior in performance to sham laser for pain or function in patients older than 50 years with moderate or severe chronic knee pain. This paper introduced the quantitative difference (QD), self-similarity and topological space in terms of phenomics reanalysis. It was found that the therapeutic effects of needle group was similar to the sham laser group, which were better than that of laser during 12 week treatment. The therapeutic effects of needle group was maintained for one year long after treatment discontinued, but that of laser group and sham laser group were not. All the parameter pairs of needle, laser group and sham laser group were self-limited during the one year observation, except for the activity restrict related parameter pairs of sham laser group. It was suggested that needle, laser and sham laser acupuncture is superior in performance of pain or function in patients older than 50 years to control group successively.

Authors: GONG Lijing, WEI Hao, ZHU Rongxin, WU Wei, HU Yang
PP: 1772-1779
Abstract: Objective: To explore the impact of aerobic exercise on apoptosis proteins level of gastric tissues of obese mice. Methods: 40 C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into normal diet group (group NC, n=8) and high-fat diet group (group H, n=32). After the obesity model established, group H was randomly divided into high-fat obesity control group (group HC) and high-fat exercise group (group HE). The level of glucose (GLU), triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (CHO) of all mice serum were measured, the morphological changes in gastric tissues and apoptosis level were observed by HE staining and TUNEL, the level of Caspase-3, Caspase-8, Caspase-9 mRNA, the relative protein expression level of Caspase-3, Caspase-8, Caspase-9, Bax and Bcl-2 in gastric tissues were detected after group HE 4 weeks aerobic training. Results: 1) Compared with NC, GLU and CHO in mice serum increased and TG decreased in HC mice, but GLU decreased in HE, CHO kept high in serum. 2) Gastric tissues of mice were irregular arrangement in group HC, the gap between tissues was wider than group NC, and the phenomenon of tissue gap in group HE had improved than that in group HC, however the arrangement was still not tight enough. 3) The apoptotic rate in group HC was much higher than group NC, and the apoptotic rate in group HE was back to the level of group NC. 4) Compared to group NC, Caspase-3, Caspase-8 and Caspase-9 mRNA in group HC gastric tissues were higher, but protein expression of Caspase-9 was relatively lower. mRNA and protein expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in group HE were both lower than group HC, and Caspase-8 mRNA expression was higher than HC. The rate of protein expression of Bax/Bcl-2 in group HC was more than 1, and recovered to 1 in group HE. Conclusion: The apoptosis of obese mice gastric tissues could be improved by aerobic exercise, which could help to reduce the damage of gastric tissues of organism caused by high-fat diet.

Authors: WU Yulan, XUE Xiuheng, LI Danyang, ZHAO Jing, WANG Huili
PP: 1760-1771
Abstract: Lipoic acid was separately encapsulated by β-cyclodextrin and liposome in the aim of improving it’s stability and antioxidation. Two lipoic acid microcapsules were prepared by the saturated precipitation and thin-film dispersion, respectively. The optimal formulations of lipoic acid microcapsule were determined with encapsulation efficiency as index by orthogonal analysis and the antioxidation was studied in vitro. The results showed that the leading factors affecting the encapsulation efficiency of lipoic acid β-cyclodextrin were ranked as the mass ratio of lipoic acid to β-cyclodextrin> stirring time> stirring speed. The optimized preparation formulation of lipoic acid microencapsulation by β-cyclodextrin was lipoic acid:β-cyclodextrin=1:1.5 and stirring for 4 h at the rate of 800 r/min. The lipoic acid encapsulated had an average size of 51.003 μm, encapsulation efficiency of 75.88% and antioxidant capacity of 1.38 mmol/L. The primary and secondary factors affecting the preparation of lipoic acid liposomes were the mass ratio of phospholipid to cholesterol> buffer pH> lipid concentration. The optimal formulation was comprised by soybean phospholipids and cholesterol with the mass ratio of 2:1, as well as lipoid with the concentration of 50 mg/mL. The optimized preparation could be concluded as follows, pH value of the water phase phosphate buffer solution was 7.2, encapsulation efficiency was 79.36%, the average particle size was 10.79 μm and antioxidant capacity was 1.39 mmol/L. The antioxidant activity of the two lipoic acid microcapsulations increased, which demonstrated that the optimization of preparation procedures did contribute to the improved stability of lipoic acid.

Authors: LIU Nana, WANG Jingjing, GU Qing, LI Ping
PP: 1753-1759
Abstract: In this study, Lactobacillus plantarum ZJ316 is preserved in our laboratory, which is isolated from infant fecal samples and produce bacteriocin. We took the microbial adhesive to hydrocarbon (MATH) method to survey and evaluate the surface properties (hydrophobicity, surface charge and autopolymerization ability) of the three lactic acid bacteria including L. plantarum ZJ316, L. plantarum ZJ22, Enterococcus faecium ZJ19. The yeast agglutination experiment was used to make clear of lactic acid bacteria carbohydrate specificity. Therefore, it lays a good foundation for the study of the adhesion mechanism of lactic acid bacteria. The results showed that the value of hydrophobicity of L. plantarum ZJ316 is (83.67±1.13)%. Yeast agglutination experiments showed that the value of yeast agglutination for L. plantarum ZJ316 was 32. When the D-mannose and methyl alpha-D-mannose glucoside were added into the experimental group, the ability of yeast agglutination declined. It illustrated that the adhesion of L. plantarum ZJ316 was associated with mannose in specific adhesion.

Authors: CEN Wan, ZHANG Qian, LIN Gang
PP: 1744-1752
Abstract: An ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) method was applied to determine the residues of citral in plasma and tissues of Anguilla japonica exposed to citral at a concentration of 3.556 mg/L for 24 h (25-27℃, pH=6.8-7.0) at different time periods. The distribution and elimination regulalion of citral was analyzed by DAS software. The results showed that the concentration-time data of citral were described as one-compartment model in the gill, muscle, liver and plasma, and as two-compartment model in the kidney. The main pharmacokinetic parameters in the muscle, liver, kidney, gill and plasma were obtained as follows: Cmax=0.014, 0.011, 0.009, 0.004, 0.049 mg/L; Tmax=24, 48, 3, 6, 6 h; Vz/F=0.561, 1.191, 1.093, 3.342, 213.294 L/kg; AUC0~∞=1.924, 3.454, 7.148, 0.404, 6.750 mg/(L•h); MRT0~∞= 150.596, 554.578, 1 200.69, 196.608, 199.928 h; t1/2z=105.31, 400.889, 761.328, 131.749, 140.295 h. The pharmacokinetic parameters showed that some of the metabolic pathways of citral in Anguilla japonica were eliminated directly from the gill, others were transported to different tissues (including the muscle) through the plasma, then moved and cumulated into the liver, finally excreted by the kidney.

Authors: LI Guangyu, LI Li, FANG Jie, ZHONG Zhaoshan, XUE Liyao, HE Yan
PP: 1738-1743
Abstract: A large amount of microcystin (MC) would appear when large-scale blue-green algae breaks out, which has strong damages to environment. In this study, zebrafish were exposed to varied doses of MC-LR groups (0, 0.3, 3, 30 μg/L). After 12 weeks, RNA was extracted from the brain samples and reverse transcribed into cDNA. Fluorescence quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) reactions were performed to detect the expression of appetite-related genes and assess the changes of zebrafish appetite. The results showed that the expression of appetite-promoting genes decreased at a lower dose MC-LR group, while the expression of appetite-promoting genes increased at a higher dose MC-LR group. In addition, MC-LR could down-regulate the expression of appetite-inhibiting genes at a lower concentration, but it would up-regulate them in a higher concentration and reach to a stable state. MC-LR could disorder appetite-related genes, which might eventually interfere ingestion of zebrafish.

PP: 1713-1721
Abstract: In this study, the sterile rice male mutant w122 was identified by EMS. Phenotypic analysis showed that the stamens of w122 mutant were normal, but the color was in pale yellow compared with wild type. I2-KI staining showed that the pollen fertility of w122 was semi-sterile. In addition, the plant height of the w122 mutant was significantly reduced compared with wild type and the number of tillers was significantly reduced. The results of genetic analysis showed that the male sterile traits of w122 mutant were controlled by a pair of recessive single genes. Gene mapping results showed that the genetic loci of w122 mutant were located within 1.23 M of physical distance between primers FL-1 and W25-38.

Authors: DONG Yun, LI Hong, ZHANG Lifeng, YAO Zhaolei
PP: 1707-1712
Abstract: Bashang region of northwest Hebei province is located agro-pasturage ecotone in North China along the Great Wall. Climate of this region is cold and dry, and soil here is barren, for which reason the agriculture and husbandry here are relatively backward. In order to clarify the water and fertilizer consumption characteristics and water nutrient production effect in Bashang region of northwest Hebei, the positioning experiments of 5 main crops, including potato, beans, maize, oat and beet, were set in the meadow chestnut soil, and the farmland water consumption composition, crop fertilizer consumption characteristics and production effect were compared. The results showed that the water consumption of beet was the largest among the 5 tested crops in the growing season, and the water consumption of potato was the least. The water content and N, P, K dry matter product efficiency of beet were highest, and unit area value, water consumption and cost effectiveness of beet and potato were relatively higher. The biological yield, water use efficiency and N, P accumulation capacity of maize and oat were higher, but their economic benefits were poor. In the Bashang region, beet and potato have the advantage of producing economic, and maize, naked oats and broad beans need high value-added pathways.

Title: Gene cloning and expression analysis of ThGAI from Tamarix hispida
Authors: ZHANG Yue, ZHANG Yu, ZHANG Chunrui, WANG Chao
PP: 1679-1687
Abstract: A protein gene of DELLA family named ThGAI gene was successfully cloned from the transcrip cDNA library of Tamarix hispida. Sequence analysis indicated that ThGAI gene is 2 901 bp in length, containing an open reading frame (ORF) of 1 980 bp and encoding 659 amino acids. The estimated molecular weight and isoelectric point of the protein encoded were 71.99 ku and 5.58, respectively. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the typical domains of DELLA protein were found in the protein encoded by ThGAI gene. Amino acid sequence alignment with other species and phylogenetic tree analysis indicated that the deduced amino acid sequence of ThGAI gene was highly homologous with those of DELLA protein from other plants and was belonged to the DELLA family. They had the DELLA protein typical domains such as TVHYNP, POLY S/T/V, NLS, VHIID, leucine and the conserved GRAS. They had the highest homology with ZmGAI from Zea mays Linn. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) assay revealed that the mRNA levels of ThGAI was significantly up-regulated under NaCl and PEG treatments, suggesting that gibberellins (GA) may be involved in abiotic stress response of T. hispida.

Title: Review of HOXB7 research progress in tumor
Authors: CAI Huayong, KONG Xiangjun, ZHU Tao
PP: 1672-1678
Abstract: Numerous studies have established a critical role for homeodomain protein HOXB7 in cancer. HOXB7 is a master regulatory gene on molecular level and cell level in human genome that could orchestrate variety of oncogenic pathways and have influence on many downstream target genes’ expression. We mainly compile the relationship between abnormal expression of HOXB7 in breast cancer and its endocrine medicine resistance based on phenomenal and mechanism, as well as the development of HOXB7 in other cancers. It has also shown that HOXB7 is correlated with advanced clinical stages of tumors and poor progonosis of patients with malignant tumors other than breast cancer. Specific inhibition of HOXB7 could be an effective therapeutic tool in lacking effective treatment of cancers, for example, breast cancer with Tamoxifen resistance and melanoma. Researches on functional mechanism of HOXB7 in cancer are providing more therapeutic targets. Also, HOXB7 is emerging as potent potential target for drug design and as informative diagnosis and prognosis biomarkers, which shows the importance of HOXB7 in tumor therapy.
