Abstract:The mechanical analysis of the oval-shaped deep open pit slope is presented in this paper. Based on the theory of elasticity, the circumference stresses at the edge of the oval-shaped open pit caused by the deadweight of the rock and the horizontal virgin stress are derived. Then considering the critical sliding conditions of the infinitesimal element, the first order differential equation, which defined the relations between the depth and the radius of curvature of the slope, is obtained. Through the particular case study, it is found that the slope curve function obtained theoretically is rational.

Abstract:This paper introduces the detection method of Hydrogen content in coal by using neutron method. The detection model of Hydrogen content in coal based on BP neural network which is optimized by Genetic Algorithms was put forward, and the research of verifying the model was made by comparing the practical measured date of coal in power plant. The results show that the detection precision using this model is 0.2%.

Abstract:A self-consistent nonlinear theory is described for a cyclotron autoresonance maser (CARM) amplifier with outer-slotted coaxial waveguide is presented. Typical simulation results, by utilizing an electron beam with voltage of 90KVand current of 50A, indicate the possibility with peak power of 773 KW and a saturated gain of 49 dB. The influence of the axial velocity spread decreases the peak power, efficiency, and saturated gain. Simulation also shows that the efficiency of the outer-slotted-coaxial waveguide CARM amplifier may be increased from 17.17% to 23.87% by tapering the magnetic field.

Abstract:We propose a suboptimal joint demodulation decoding (JDD) algorithm for multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) channels. Compared with the optimal JDD, our algorithm can decrease the computational complexity significantly in the large number of transmit antennas, thus offering favorable performance/complexity characteristics. Computer simulation results are provided to compare the performance of the optimal JDD, suboptimal JDD, and the conventional separable soft-input soft-output demodulation decoding (SSDD).

Abstract:In this paper, we present a joint source-channel decoding algorithm (JSCD) for LDPC codes by exploiting the redundancy of the Huffman coded sources. When the number of Huffman codes increases, just a moderate complexity is added for our algorithm by increasing the size of the lookup table, which is used to estimate the information bit probability based on the source redundancy.

9. Joint souce-channel Turbo Coding of Vector Quantized images

Abstract:In this paper, we first present an index assignment algorithm which is robust against channel errors. We name this algorithm as chain algorithm. Furthermore, by using this new algorithm to rearrange the order of codevectors in the codebook, the index bits of different position will have different error sensibilities to channel noise, and a good performance of image qualities transimitted over the noisy channel can be obtained after using turbo code to protect some significant bits of the index. Through numerical simulations, the qualities of the image transimitted over noisy channel can be improved without increasing any complexities.

Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:Explicit design formulas are given for symmetrical broader bandwidth parallel diplexers, where the diplexer consists of two bandpass channels connected to a common port, and the two bandpass channels with same band width and operating at different center frequencies are derived from same lowpass prototype. The modified element values of the corresponding lowpass prototypes are expanded as power series in well defined band-separation factors separately, and the input admittances of the both channels are expressed as functions of the modified element values. To keep all zero reflection frequencies of the lowpass prototype as corresponding zero reflection frequencies of the corresponding channel, the coefficients for the power series are determined, and the explicit design formulas are given for all modified element values of the lowpass prototypes of the two channels. Meanwhile, additional impedance invertors are used to obtain a parallel realization.
