Abstract:A photonic approach to rapidly switch two microwave signals with different frequency or/and phase is proposed. We experimentally show that two microwave signals with a precise π phase difference at 21- and 29.425-GHz are successfully switched at the speed of 93.4-, 83.3-ps respectively.

Abstract:Based on the abundant properties of Minkowski spacetime $mathcal{M}$ in Special Relativity, here we create a geometric structure in fiber-bundle language which relates the tangent bundle $mathcal{TM}$ to Cartan subalgebra $mathfrak{h}$ of the gauge Lie algebra $mathfrak{g}$ of connected compact Lie group $G$. In the relating geometry, the structural group of principal bundle $P$ is the quotient group $G_Sigma=G/H$ by a maximum torus subgroup $H$, while the positive-definite Cartan subalgebra $mathfrak{h}$ with an Exponential Map to $H$ holds the bundle of $mathfrak{q}_x=mathcal{T}_xmathcal{M}oplusmathfrak{h}$. If the bundle of $mathfrak{q}_x$ is trivial over $mathcal{M}$, a relater $t_lpha^{ eta}$ for the Maurer-Cartan connection 1-form of $mathcal{M}$ can be solved when $ ext{dim} H=4$. The geometry has an instant application to classical observations on massive particles. It provides the modification with a Variable-Speed-of-Light (VSL) derived from the Clifford values in $mathfrak{q}_x$ and the associative bundle $mathfrak{E}_x$.

Abstract:The measurement of Higgs self-coupling is one of the most crucial physics goals at the future colliders. At the LHC, the di-Higgs production is a main way to measure the Higgs trilinear coupling. As a complementary to the di-Higgs production, $t ar{t} hh$ process may open a new avenue to measure di-Higgs physics at the LHC and a future 100 TeV $pp$ collider or a high energy $e^+e^-$ collider since the extra $tar t$ in the final states may efficiently suppress the backgrounds. However, such a kind of process is also controlled by the top-Higgs coupling. In this work, we investigate the impact of CP-violating top-Higgs coupling on production at the LHC, $e^+e^-$ and a 100 TeV hadron collider under the current Higgs data. Within Higgs data allowed parameter region, we find that the cross section of $tar{t}hh$ at the LHC-14 TeV, $e^+e^-$-1 TeV and VHE-LHC/SPPC-100 TeV can be enhanced up to 2.1 times the SM predictions. The future precise measurement of Higgs coupling will reveal the nature of top-Higgs interaction and improve the sensitivity of the determination of Higgs self-coupling through $tar{t}hh$ production.

Abstract:Near-infrared quantum cutting phenomenon has been demonstrated in Pr3+/Yb3+ co-doped oxyfluoride aluminosilicate glasses synthesized by a conventional melting-quenching method. The absorption spectra, emission spectra in visible and infrared regions and luminescence decay time have been investigated. Under 442 nm excitation, the visible and the near-infrared emission spectra reveal that the energy transfer occur from Pr3+ to Yb3+ ions, resulting in intense 980 nm near-IR emission and the first-order energy transfer is responsible for the downconverted luminescence. The efficiency of energy transfer from Pr3+ to Yb3+ is 60%, and the optimal quantum efficiency is 160%. In addition, the emission assigned to Yb3+:2F5/2→2F7/2 transition matches well with the band gap of single-junction, which have potential application in enhancing the conversion efficiency of crystalline Si solar cell.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a novel optical encryption and decryption method of the gray image based on the computer-generated hologram (CGH) and two-dimensional (2D) Sine Logistic Modulation Maps (SLMM). The 2D SLMM is highly sensitive to its parameters and initial values and owns larger security space than existing chaotic maps. Since using chaotic maps or the CGH alone achieves low security, we combine both of them together. In the encryption process, the hologram is gotten by Fresnel diffraction, and is logically modulated with 2D-SLMM. This logical modulation we proposed can avoid the complex algorithm. The decryption process is an inverse of encryption. Simulation results and the security analysis verified that the new approach outperforms the other conventional methods. It has higher security level, as a result of the advantages of 2D-SLMM, and resistances to various attacks.

Abstract:The exit cone of massless and massive particles in Schwarzschild spacetime is considered. Explicit and general formula for the cone direction is computed as a function of the initial velocity and initial radius. It is shown that for massless particles, the cone size will increase smoothly from 0 to $pi$ as the initial radius goes from $2M$ to $infty$. The usual photon sphere located at $r=3M$ is just where the exit cone equals $pi/2$, as it should be. For massive particles, unlike the massless particles, it can be show that there exist regions in the initial velocity-initial radius parameter space that the particle cannot escape at all. For other regions where an nonzero escape cone angle exits, for the same initial velocity, similar to the massless case, this angle will increase from some 0 to $pi$ as the initial radius increases from some critical values to infinity.

Abstract:We observe directly the lattice vibration and its multifold effect on electron/spin transport in zigzag graphene nanoribbons in simulation. Results show that the electron transport fluctuates greatly due to the incessant lattice vibration of the nanoribbons. More interestingly, the phonons behave like a double-edged sword that it boosts the conductance of symmetric zigzag nanoribbons (containing even number of zigzag chains along the width direction) while weakens the conductance of asymmetric nanoribbons. As a result, the spin filter effect that exists in perfect symmetric zigzag graphene nanoribbon is significantly weakened by phonons. Since phonons are usually inevitable in experiments, the research is very meaningful for guiding the realization of theoretical phenomena in experiments or explaining the mismatches between theoretical predictions and experimental results.

Abstract:As a member of transition metal dichalcogenides, IrTe2 is expected to exhibit typical layered structure and show large spin-orbital coupling(SOC) due to the large atomic numbers of Ir and Te. We successfully fabricated high quality IrTe2 crystals, where superconductivity was detected by transport and diamagnetic measurements. Furthermore, linear magnetoresistance was observed over a wide range of magnetic field up to 15T without any sign of becoming saturated, which might originate from topological nontrivial state. Thus, IrTe2 could be a candidate of topological superconductors with simple element composition and crystal structure.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the recent 750 GeV diphoton excess in the Hill Model with vector-like fermions, in which the singlet-like Higgs boson is chosen as 750 GeV resonance and is mainly produced by the gluon fusion through vector-like top and bottom quarks. Meanwhile its diphoton decay rate is greatly enhanced by the vector-like lepton. Under the current experimental and theoretical constraints, we present the viable parameter space that fits the 750 GeV diphoton signal strength at 13 TeV LHC. We find that the heavier vector-like fermion masses are, the smaller mixing angle $ heta$ is required. The mixing angle of singlet and doublet Higgs bosons is constrained within $|sin heta| lesssim 0.15$ in the condition of the perturbative Yukawa couplings. In the allowed parameter space, the 750 GeV diphoton cross section can be maximally enhanced to about 6 fb at 13 TeV LHC.

Abstract:The influence of phase noise in dual-frequency laser phase-shift range finder is theoretical and experimentally investigated. The proposed range finder is based on the use of a coherent dual-frequency laser and a direct detection of the backscattered laser. The effects of laser phase noise and noise from an acousto-optic frequency shifter (AOFS) on dual-frequency laser phase-shift range finder is analyzed. The expression of power spectral density and the phase noise of dual-frequency laser beat note are deduced. And we find that noise from the acousto-optic frequency shifter exhibit much greater impact into beat note noise conversion. The theoretical results can be used to estimate the influence of laser phase noise, noise induced by the acousto-optic frequency shifter and delay length in dual-frequency laser range finder. The experiment of dual-frequency laser range finder is performed on outdoor targets at the distance of 200m. The phase jitter in the experiment is in good agreement with the model of beat note phase noise.
