Abstract:The influence of phase noise in dual-frequency laser phase-shift range finder is theoretical and experimentally investigated. The proposed range finder is based on the use of a coherent dual-frequency laser and a direct detection of the backscattered laser. The effects of laser phase noise and noise from an acousto-optic frequency shifter (AOFS) on dual-frequency laser phase-shift range finder is analyzed. The expression of power spectral density and the phase noise of dual-frequency laser beat note are deduced. And we find that noise from the acousto-optic frequency shifter exhibit much greater impact into beat note noise conversion. The theoretical results can be used to estimate the influence of laser phase noise, noise induced by the acousto-optic frequency shifter and delay length in dual-frequency laser range finder. The experiment of dual-frequency laser range finder is performed on outdoor targets at the distance of 200m. The phase jitter in the experiment is in good agreement with the model of beat note phase noise.

Abstract:By using the nonequilibrium Green's function formalism in combination with the density functional theory, we have studied the electronic transport properties of three phenazine derivatives which are linked to gold electrodes through thiol-gold bonds. We can see that the currents through the top configurations are remarkably larger than that of hollow ones. That is to say, the contact position does affect the electronic transport properties. We also find that the molecule devices exhibited negative differential resistance phenomenon when the metal-molecule contact model is top. The mechanisms are proposed for these phenomena.

Abstract:The optical limiting (OL) properties of graphene dispersions in chlorobenzene (CB) and N-methy1-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) were studied using a nanosecond laser. By measuring the nonlinear scattering (NLS) light, we demonstrated that NLS effect originating from laser induced solvent micro-bubbles and/or micro-plasmas played an important role in OL process of graphene dispersions. By changing the solvent temperature, the OL ability of graphene dispersion was able to be controlled. The influence of temperature on the OL property of the materials was attributed to the surface tension change of solvents, which was responsible to the NLS in the OL process of the dispersions.

Abstract:It has been studied the spectroscopy of a simple two-level single molecule coupled to a nonequilibrium environment, driven by an external classical laser field based on the generating function approach. The environmental nonequilibrium feature is characterized by a non-Markovian environmental noise process with nonstationary statistical properties. In the situation when the environmental noise is memoryless, the statistical properties related to photon emission of the system such as the average photon number, the line shape, the Mandel $Q$ parameter and so on can be obtained, and then the phenomenon in spectral dynamics induced by the environmental nonequilibrium feature can be observed.}%It is shown that the spectral narrowing phenomenon was observed when the system dynamics transits from non-Markovian to Markovian due to the decrease of the coupling between the system and the environment.

Abstract:The long-range interacting spin-1 chain placed in a staggered magnetic field is studied by means of microcanonical approach. Firstly, we study the microcanonical entropy of the system and find the system is nonergodic and can exhibit either first order phase transition or second order phase transition by shifting the external magnetic field strength. Secondly, we construct the the global phase diagram of the system and find a phase transition area in the phase diagram corresponding to the temperature jump of the first order phase transition.

Abstract:In the present work, the contributions of heavy gaugeboson $W^prime$ in non-universal and un-unified $221$ models to theradiative leptonic decays of charged $B$ and $D$ mesons are studied with the constraints on modelparameters from the latest experimental data considered. It is found that thecorrections of $W^prime$ in the non-universal $221$ model to thedecays $B^- ightarrow gamma mu^- ar{ u}_mu$ and $B^- ightarrow gamma au^- ar{ u}_ au$ can reach to about$8 %$ in the up-quark mixing scenario, which may be tested by moreprecise experiments such as LHCb, BelleII in the future. Incontrast, the corrections of $W^prime$ in the un-unified $221$model to the radiative leptonic decays of charged $B$ and $D$ mesonsare very tiny.

Abstract:We present, within a femtosecond time scale, a scheme for studying the fast population dynamics of graphene under a few-cycle chirped pulse excitation. Based on the density-matrix formalism, the time-dependent differential equations are derived which can be used to describe the carrier dynamics in graphene. We find that the ultrafast transfer of population between electronic states in both valence and conduction bands becomes possible due to the combined interband and intraband transitions. Also, a complete population inversion can be obtained under appropriate conditions. These dynamical behaviors can be controlled by choosing suitable values of chirped parameter as well as the intensities of laser pulse and the applied magnetic field. Our investigations have potential applications in the design of graphene-based ultrafast electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Abstract:To image living cells, lower resolution of three-dimensional reconstructions caused by x-ray lenses and radiation damage should be considered. As a type of developing computational microscopy, coherent diffraction imaging (CDI) is demonstrating its ability to imaging cells at superior resolution without any lens. In this paper, some challenges and corresponding approaches to CDI were briefly analyzed and discussed. Here equally sloped tomography is applied and demonstrates that it can achieve superior three-dimensional reconstructions to conventional tomography from fewer projections.

Abstract:This article provides a experimental verification of cover times distribution theory. In real systems, due to the boundary conditions, driving mode and the granular mixtures, the particle's diffusions are usually different from several classic random walks. In this article we investigate two types of granular diffusion: the Brownian motion and the unusual diffusion. We found that the particle's cover time distribution will be affected by boundary effects, and we develop a boundary cutting method to remove that impact. It is observed that the full cover times distribution of super-diffusion and Brownian motion are suitable for the theoretical result in the long-time covering process, but in the short-time covering process, there is a deviation. We think this deviation is due to the long-time approximation.

Abstract:Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) which is one of the most popular laser crystals has been widely used in solid state laser. Nd: YAG crystals with the diameter of 80 mm are grown by Czochralski (CZ) method. The up-weighing automatic diameter control (ADC) system is used to obtain the good quality of large diameter Nd:YAG crystals. Four common defects of Nd:YAG crystals are analyzed by adjusting the growth parameters and optimizing the thermal environment. Perfect Nd:YAG crystal with diameter of 80mm and lengh of 350 mm has been obtained successfully in this work.
