Abstract:The entanglement properties in an antiferromagnetic dimerized Heisenberg spin-$1/2$ chain are investigated. The entanglement gap, which is the difference between the ground-state energy and the minimal energy that any separable state can attain, is calculated to detect the entanglement. It is found that the entanglement gap can be increased by varying the alternation parameter. Through thermal energy, the witness of the entanglement can determine a characteristic temperature below that an entangled state can be obtained. The entanglement detected by the energy can provide a lower bound for that determined by the concurrence. If the alternation parameter is smaller than a critical value, there is always no inter-dimer entanglement in the chain.

Abstract:The two atoms in the ion trap are entangled by the interaction with an external excited atom. The evolution of the entanglement is analytically derived without the decoherence. Considering the spontaneous decay from the environment, the evolution of the entanglement is similar to the damping Rabi oscillation. The generation of entanglement is induced by the dipole-dipole type interaction of atoms. It is found that the entanglement of two trapped atoms is robust with the uniform interaction with the external atom. The collective spontaneous emission from the coupling between the atoms may enhance the entanglement.

Abstract:The effects of amplitude damping in quantum noise channels on average fidelity of quantum teleportation are analyzed in Bloch sphere representation for every stage of teleportation. When the quantum channels are varied from maximally entangled states to non-maximally entangled states, it is found that the effects of noise channels on the fidelity are nearly equivalent for strong quantum noise. The degree of damage on the fidelity of non-maximally entangled channels is smaller than that of maximally entangled channels. The average fidelity of values larger than $2\!/3$ may be one representation indirectly showing how much the unavoidable quantum noise is.
