Abstract:Modeling study is performed to reveal the momentum and heat/mass transfer characteristics of a turbulent or laminar plasma reactor consisting of an argon plasma jet issuing into ambient air and interacting with a co-axially counter-injected argon jet. The turbulence-enhanced combined-diffusion-coefficient method is employed to treat the diffusion of argon in the argon-air mixture for the turbulent regimes. It is shown that there exists a quench layer with steep temperature gradients inside the reactor and the location and shape of the quench layer are dependent on the momentum flux ratio of the plasma jet to the counter-injected cold gas. There exists a high argon concentration or even 'air-free' channel along the reactor axis.

Abstract:By applying the quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model in an inhomogeneous quantum magnetoplasma with density and temperature gradients, a two-dimensional nonlinear equation is obtained in the case that the dissipative effect through collision between ions and neutrals is dominant. Drift shock, explosion and vortex solutions of the nonlinear system are obtained, and the structures of electrostatic potential are discussed in detail.

Abstract:The effects of negative ions and ultraviolet irradiation on the modulational instability properties of nonlinear dust acoustic waves in the electronegative dusty plasmas was investigated by considering Boltzmann-distributed electrons, negative ions, positive ions as well as positively charged dust grain under the ultraviolet irradiation. It is shown that the modulation properties of the dust acoustic waves were strongly affected by the temperature and proportion of the negative ions. The effect of photoelectron on the modulational instability of dust acoustic waves was also given.

Abstract:The optical emission spectroscopes of the hybrid nitrogen and trimethylgallium ECR plasma were investigated in this paper. The results show that TMG is strongly dissociated in ECR plasma at room temperature condition. It is desirable to set a higher N2: TMG ratio (N2: TMG > 10:1) to keep the Ga source and N source in balance to grow high quality GaN film.
