Abstract:We have synthesized 3,3,7,7-tetra[N-ethyl-N-benzyl(acetamide)-2-oxymethyl]-5- oxanonane (EBAOO) and its terbium complex. The crystal structures of the complex were determined: [Tb(EBAOO)]2[Tb(NO3)5]3•H2O, Orthorhombic, a = 40.722 (6) Å, b = 18.418 (3) Å, c = 20.496 (3) Å. In the structure, the rare earth ion satisfies nine coordination. The geometry of the nine-coordinate polyhedron is discussed in terms of the dihedral angle and the mean plane. The luminescence of the complex is noticeable enhanced upon complexation with Ag+, which is due to the suppressing of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) process. Therefore, the terbium complex can be the generation of silver selective fluorescent probe.

Abstract:We herein report a direct approach to prepare chainlike nanostructures by the assembly of small platinum nanoparticles through a polyol process in the presence of aniline. During the reduction process of H2PtCl6 to Pt nanoparticles by ethylene glycol, aniline functioned as a stabilizer, which played a key role in the formation of the chainlike assemblies of Pt nanoparticles. Moreover, investigation shows the size of the chainlike assemblies of Pt nanoparticles can be tailored by changing the amount of aniline in solution. The morphology of the as-prepared Pt nanostructures was observed by the combination of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Other characterization techniques including energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-vis- near infrared region (NIR) absorption spectroscopy were also used to analyze these chainlike nanostructures. Furthermore, the corresponding I-V characteristics were studied with a semiconductor characterization system by bridging a single chainlike assembly on a gold microelectrode pair. The possible formation mechanism of these chainlike assemblies of Pt nanoparticles was also discussed. It is believed that these chainlike Pt nanostructures are valuable for fundamental research and the construction of nanodevices.

Abstract:The self-organization on silica slide of citrate-capped Au nanoparticles driven by solvent evaporation was carried out under an alternating magnetic field. It was found that Au nanoparticles nearly uniformly dispersed on the substrate with a generalized “phase transition”, rather than 2D or 3D aggregation observed in previous experiments, which was correlative with field parameters. The mechanism was proposed based on the combination of capillary force and electrowetting induced by alternating magnetic field.

Abstract:Glu is highly conserved as the first amino acid of E-helix of the EF-hand protein. In this paper, Glu 101, the first amino acid of the E-helix of the third EF-hand motif in EoCen was mutated to be Lys by the method of site direct mutation. TNS and Tb3+ were used as probes in the study of the effect of this mutation to the proper conformation of EoCen. Results indicate the mutation protein (E101K) displays an increased hydrophobic exposure surface and a different Tb3+ binding characteristic. It proves that the conformation of EoCen has been altered largely by this mutation. The general conditional binding constant of Tb3+ to the three loops of EF-hand sites I, II, III in E101K was calculated to be (5.64 ± 0.57) × 105 M-1.

Abstract:a simple method to prepare the novel magnetic carrier based on carbon matrix has been built by heating the aqueous solution of glucose and oleic acid stabilized Fe3O4 nanoparticle at 170 C for 3 h. The results show that the surface hydrophobic modification of Fe3O4 nanoparticle is necessary to the successful synthesis of Fe3O4/C nanocomposition, and a possible formation mechanism of Fe3O4/C nanocomposition was presented. The influence of the reaction parameters such as the concentration of oleic acid stabilized Fe3O4 nanoparticle, the reaction time, etc. on the product was also investigated. In the typical reaction (2.5 g/L of oleic acid-stabilized Fe3O4 nanoparticle, 0.5 M of glucose), Fe3O4/C nanocompositions with the average diameter in the range of 100-200 nm were obtained and its saturation is 12.4 emu/g. In order to characterize Fe3O4/C nanocompositions, XPS, XRD, FT-IR, and Mössbauer spectra were employed.

Abstract:A novel chiral coordination polymer [Ag(pmta)]n (1, pmta- = 2-pyrimidylthioacetate) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, in which the AgI centre is four-coordinated by N, O, O, and S atoms from three different tridentate pmta- ligands to construct two types of coaxial single-stranded helices. The complex exhibits strong fluorescence emission in the solid state and modest power second harmonic generation efficiency at room temperature. The adjustment of helical Ag(I) coordination architectures by two slight different building blocks, pmta- and pyta- (pyta- = 4-pyridylthioacetate), has also been investigated.

Abstract:The neutralization of sodium hydroxide by carbon dioxide occurring during the process of carbonization precipitation of sodium aluminate solution was investigated. Firstly, the effects of those main factors such as CO2 concentration、temperature、initial concentration of NaOH were investigated. Then the kinetics equation concerning this reaction was obtained after proper data treatment. The results showed that it assumes an apparent activation energy of 8.06 kJ/mol which indicated a diffusion-controlled process. Furthermore, based on the principles governing diffusion-controlled process, the dependence of neutralization rate on gas flow was deduced theoretically with a form as: rd=KDKCA(Q/VL)2/3 whose plausibility was validated by those experimental research thereafter.
