Abstract:The simpler, the better! A simple and highly luminescent phenolate anion of a salicylaldehyde molecule containing a very small pi-conjugated system of one benzene ring has been designed and prepared. The absorption and fluorescence properties of the salicylaldehyde molecule are highly dependent on the pH value of the solution, and thus it can be used in the detection of pH value and living cell imaging. | |||
