Abstract:Three important aspects of phase-mining must be optimized: the number of phases, the geometry and position of each phase-pit (including the ultimate pit), and the ore and waste quantities to be mined in each phase. A model is presented in this paper in which, a sequence of geologically optimum pits are first generated and then dynamically evaluated to simultaneously optimize the above three aspects, with the objective of maximizing the overall net present value. The model takes into full account of the dynamic nature of the problem with respect to both time and space, and is robust in accommodating different pit wall slopes and different bench heights.

Abstract:In this paper the fundamentals of banana screening method and the structural features of the banana screen were presented. Based on soft-dry ball contact model, banana screening process was simulated by using 3D discrete element method. The results show that the material bed on banana screen possesses a characteristic of thin and constant thickness along the screen plate. The particles velocity on the screen deck shows a decreasing distribution along the screen deck length and the decrease of velocity changes from steep at the feed end to flat at the discharge end. The instantaneous efficiency of banana screen can reach to above 0.95 and the efficiency of steady state is about 0.83. Numerical simulation results can provide references for insight understanding of the banana screening mechanism and optimization of banana screen.

Abstract:This paper presents a mathematical study of particle flow on a banana screen deck using the discrete element method (DEM). The motion characteristics and penetrating mechanisms of particles on the screen deck are studied. Effects of geometric parameters of screen deck on banana screening process are investigated. The results show that when the values of inclination of discharge and increment of screen deck inclination are 10 and 5 respectively, the banana screening process get a good screening performance in the simulation. The relationship between screen deck length and screening efficiency is further confirmed. The conclusion that the screening efficiency will not significantly increase when the deck length L≥430mm(L/B≥3.5)is obtained, which can provide theoretical basis for the optimization of banana screen.

Abstract:In order to suppress the noise in the magnetic flux leakage, the algorithm considering signal correlation, in which an optimal predictor and an optimal updater were chosen for every sample at all scales according to the magnitude of the correlation coefficient, was proposed. So the wavelets obtained through designing predictor and updater can perfectly fit the local features of signal. The actually processing effect of the simulation and the magnetic flux leakage signal of damage in wire rope show that the proposed method, compared with the classical wavelet, can effectively remove noise in original signal and principally retain the local features of the original signal.

Abstract:In order to remove noise in the broken wire signal of wire rope, a new denoising algorithm based on the correlation of inter scales wavelet coefficient was proposed. Because the wavelet coefficient of signal has strong correlation and the wavelet coefficient of noise does not has obvious correlation, in the process of calculating threshold, an inter scales correlation factor was constructed considering the part speciality of next scale on the same position after wavelet transform. The proposed factor can adaptively adjust threshold on the position of signal and noise, thereby otaining good denoising effect and holding the break information in original signal. The actual processing effect of simulation and damage signal of wire rope shows that the proposed method, compared with the classical threshold, not only effectively removes noise in original signal and improve the signal noise ratio(SNR),but also retains the break information of inspected damage signal of wire rope.

Abstract:Based on the key stratum theory, overlying strata structures above a typical unsymmetrical isolated face (LW10302) is analyzed, and a microseismic monitoring is also applied to characterize the fracturing propagations associated with overburden movement in mining progress. The results show that the overlying strata above LW10302 can be divided into key strata of different grades, and the formed "O-X" fracturing structure have the main and inferior "O-X" ones. The spatial evolution of seismic events demonstrated that seismic activities fits very well with the overburden fracturing patterns and stress manifestation around the longwall face. In the mining process, most of the events located within the surrounding strata of LW10301 and 10302 while low energy events distributed mainly in multiple roof and floor strata, and the strong tremors occurred almost within the super-thick primary key strata and appeared to be related to shear fracturing of large-scale overburden movement. Additionally, seismic signals corresponding to different failure mechanisms show different characteristics in waveform features. The study in this paper indicates that microseismic monitoring can provide invaluable information to characterize the mining-induced seismicity and reveal the failure patterns within strata associated with mining, which will greatly benefit the alleviation and prevention of rock burst hazards in mines.

Abstract:On account of the fracture status of shaft joint in complex stratum, we analyze the reasons causing damage, then put forward restoration plans, such as, controlling water and consolidate the weak stratum by grouting, and strengthen the shaft supporting. We also propose to enhance supporting shaft thickness reasonably through shaft calculation, checking, and numerical simulation. In addition, bolting support with metal mesh and cable system should be adopted in the combined support of weak surrounding rock, double bolt plates should be used to enhance the links between shaft and surrounding rock, and the support effect should also be monitored.

Abstract:The paper examines the mine subsidence monitoring issue from a further perspective. Different from previous research, this paper wants to emphasize the importance of curve model in the study of the gray system and the L curve. In what follows we want to show that both the practical application in monitoring. There are three parts in this paper. We start with a brief introduction to two curve model. Then we propose a practical application to testify the accuracy of the model. We find in our research that different mining subsidence prediction data model is not fixed. Based on these findings, we may conclude that the proposed two models or other models should be calculated to find the most suitable prediction model to monitor the distribution of mining subsidence and guide exploration and production for different settlement value of each group of mines.
