Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:This paper provides a comprehensive comparison of three primary modern brushless doubly-fed machines (BDFMs), namely, cascaded doubly-fed induction machine (CDFIM), brushless doubly-fed induction machine (BDFIM) and brushless doubly-fed reluctance machine (BDFRM) in terms of design-related issues, such as cross-coupling capability and torque density, as the antecedence of the companion paper dealing with modeling and control aspects. The definition of specific electric loading, specific magnetic loading and efficiency in conventional single-fed ac machine design are discussed and extended so as to be suitable for doubly-fed ac machines. A generaltorquedensity equationsubject to electromagnetic loading constraints is developed and then applied tothe three topological variations for initial sizing and torque density comparison.Three typical BDFM prototypes from existing literatures are employed to validate the effectiveness of the general torque density equation. The comparison establishes a solid foundation for the proper utilization and further development of the BDFMs.

Abstract:In order to calculate the iron loss of PMLSM, a novel methodology based on FEA, 8 fast Fourier transformation and fuzzy computation was proposed. The mathematical model of linear motor was established, including the flux linkage equation and voltage equation, electromagnetic thrust equation so that PMLSM is well understood. Then 5 steps were taken to resolve the problem of iron loss, and the calculation method for 8 fast Fourier transformation and fuzzy computation was researched in this paper. Simulation and calculation was performed to calculate the iron loss, 8FFT can greatly improve the computing speed and calculate harmonic content firstly. Secondly, fuzzy calculation has greatly improved the intelligence and accuracy of the calculation for iron loss. Finally, the figures of iron loss show that the iron loss rises as the force ranges from 10N to 80N. In addition, the iron loss also rises greatly as the frequency ranges from 5 to 500Hz for different force.

Abstract:This paper researches a sensorless control method of flux-switching permanent linear magnet with high-frequency signal injection on the basis of salient pole verification, through the analysis of FSPMLM structure. A high frequency sinusoidal voltage signal is superimposed into the estimated d-axis, and the mover position can be demodulated after q-axis current is regulated, which is relative to error angle. Ultimately the mover position and speed can be obtained exactly. The paper also contributes to an improved magnetic pole identification based on space vector pulse width modulation for and arbitrary initial position to resolve starting problem of IPMSM. At last, the simulation model of FSPMLM and control system are constructed and all results of simulation demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the presented approach, this method is well suitable for the application.

Abstract:Electromagnetic loading in the metal structures will produce stress wave signal at the edge of the crack and this phenomenon can be used in nondestructive testing of metal defects. As the core of electromagnetic load, the output parameters of the exciting source, such as current frequency and amplitude, have a significant impact on loading effect. For the loading demand of the electromagnetic acoustic emission (EMAE), using the energy storage of the capacitor, the pulse high current which the EMAE needs can be achieved by capacitor discharging instantaneous. It designs the adjustable regulated power supply based on semi-bridge switching circuit principle. The parameter display and adjustment module can be achieved based on the single-chip system. Applying to the EMAE experiment, it can reach the expected target.?????

Abstract:System stability plays an important role in electric power systems. With the development of electric power system, the scale of the electric grid is now becoming larger and larger, and many renewable energy resources are integrated in the grid. However, at the same time, the stability and safety issues of electric power system are becoming more complicated. Frequency is one of the most critical parameters of the system stability. Obtaining the parameter has been a great challenge for decades. Researchers have provided various kinds of algorithms for frequency tracking. Among them, Least Squares (LS) algorithm is one of the most commonly used algorithm. The paper studies the LS algorithm working on frequency tracking. In order to test the performance of the algorithm, some simulations have been made in MATLAB.

Abstract:Self-constructing feedback fuzzy neural network controller (SCFFNNC) is designed to aim at the parameter uncertainties for permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) since they cause negative influence to the dynamic performance of PMLSM servo system. The thought about self-constructing, in which the number of neurons for the whole structure can be able to increase on line according to the variety of error, is introduced based on combining the non-linear identification of fuzzy control with self-learning of neural network. It can reserve the self-learning abilities, improve the real-time performance for neural network and then enhance the dynamic performance of PMLSM. The simulation results show that the servo system for PMLSM based on SCFFNNC can realize quick response, high precision and strong robustness for the parameter uncertainties of PMLSM.

Abstract:For the low-voltage and high-current output requirements of high-power and high-pressure sodium lamps (HPS), the paper presents a CLCL resonant inverter, to achieve zero-voltage and zero-current switching (ZVZCS) and sine wave output through resonance. The working principle for the new circuit was presented, based on achieving the soft switching conditions for the inverter switches. Then an optimization design method was investigated in this paper, which made the minimum voltage stress on the resonant components in ZVZCS condition. The theoretical and simulation results of the newly designed circuit show that all the switches work in the ZVZCS state. Besides, we got a sine waveform current output, which efficiently reduced the crest factor of the current and extended the life of the lamp. To examine the correctness of the proposed method, finally, we designed a DC-AC resonant inverter with 400V input, 100V/10A output, and 260 kHz switching frequency. The experimental result sustained the proposed configuration and the full load efficiency of the inverter can achieve 99.1%

Abstract:Totally five finite element (FE) models are presented, they are used to analyze the stress and strain within the first MICE coupling coils during the pretension winding process. The FE models are built based on the principle of nested thin wall cylinder, and advanced FE technologies such as the "birth and death" and the contact. By comparing the computation results of the first three models, the deformation at the bobbin flanges for the first MICE coupling coil does not be predicted by the original FE model. Moreover, the limitation of the "birth and death" technology is revealed when it is applied to stress analysis for the pretension winding process. Because of its limitation, by mean of "birth and death" technology can only draw an approximate result. In order for the numerical simulation is as closely as possible to the real winding process, it is necessary to minimize the radial displacement. As the result, a new FE model is established, where roles of the coil bobbin support and coil fabrication process is taken into account. The process includes winding coil, welding cover plate, and removing bobbin support. In addition, the bobbin support is modified to satisfy the application condition for the "birth and death" element. By exploring the improved method, the computation results predict the actual stess and strain status of the finished superconducting coil more accurately.

Abstract:With regard to the uncertainty of wind power and negative effects to the area-damping of system caused by long-distance transmission of large-scale wind power under high permeability, a design method of wide-area controller is put forward which is applicable to a great change in the operation modes of power system such as a dramatic change of wind speed in wind farms. A model of power system is established using time-delay linear parameters change method and the nonlinear problem is described by the clever use of linear equation. Then the whole parameter change range is meshed and the controllers are designed respectively. Finally the scheduling criteria is formulated by a triangle membership function and the controller weights is also assigned so as to construct a wide-area gain-scheduling controller which can cover the full range of parameter change. The time domain simulation of a test system shows that the proposed method has an ideal effect even a great change has occurred to the operation modes and has stronger robustness compared with the traditional pole assignment method.
