Abstract:Series of biaxial compression simulations are carried out to investigate the effects of boundary condition on the deformation of granular materials by using DEM. The parameters used in DEM are validated by the biaxial compression experiments on elliptical steel bars. The effects of boundary condition on the stress-strain relationship are analyzed. And special focus are put in the analysis of particle displacement, particle rotation, void distribution, particle long axis orientation and contact force with the development of deformation.

Abstract:With the aim to establish an integrated and objective model applicable to green earthwork assessment just at the pre-construction state, this paper focuses on the application of life-cycle assessment theory and methods to the qualitative analysis of resources and energy input-output effect and pollutants emission impact during the earthwork phase. The study gives the outline of this model include the units works breakdown technique, the input-output analysis of units and the assessment procedures. It's expected that the paper can offer us a general overview how to identify and quantitative assess the environment impacts during the earthwork phase, by which, a pre-control plan for green construction can be easily established.

Abstract:This paper proposes a prototype of a construction schedule management system based on 4D simulation and information flow technologies. As a branch of Building Information Model (BIM), this system integrates the systems of IDEF0v information flow modeling, Design Structure Matrix (DSM) optimization and Virtual Reality (VR) simulation. Apart from visualize the construction process with 4D simulation, as most normal BIM schedule management systems could, the proposed system could also optimize the construction schedule with the information flow modeling and DSM optimizing, and allow the construction managers to make dynamical adaption and optimization to the schedule according to the differences between planned and real process. This system could help the construction managers supervise and control the construction schedule with information and visualization-based schedule simulation model in the whole process of construction project.?????

Abstract:Abstract: The wave impedance theory of reflection wave method and its localization were introduced. The FE models of diameter-extended piles and integrated piles with a hard soil layer surrounded were built. The wavelet transformation figures of the sampling point’s acceleration were studied when these two models were different in bug’s diameter and soil’s elastic modulus respectively. It was found that when the sampling frequency was bigger than 40 KHz, a group of wave crests in high frequency between the reflected wave of bug and the pile toe could be select to be the distinguishing character between these two models. The results can be a reference in the practice and provide a target in the inversion of the characteristic wave.

Abstract:An improved Grey-based settlement predictor is promoted. Adopt Grey prediction as a forecasting means because of its fast calculation with a few of data inputs needed. However, our preliminary study shows that the general Grey model, GM (1, 1) is inadequate to handle settlement prediction as its only adapt to the data with exponential law. And the defect was the coefficient’s choice of α and in prediction formula. In this study, the prediction is improved significantly by applying the transformed Grey model and the concept of average system slope. The adaptive value of α in the Grey differential equation is obtained quickly with the average system slope technique. The example show that the prediction accuracy has been improved quite a lot in comparison with general grey model.
