Abstract:A high-dimension chaotic system based on Multivariable Linkage Function (MvLF) is proposed within the passage, which has variable Lyapunov exponents (LEs) and the sufficient capabilities to implement different chaotic, hyperchaotic status, or both. Not only does it have much more security than the former similar ones, but its expansibility and physical simplicity in modeling and applications also excel others. The passage carried out relevant analysis on the eigenvalue problem of system Jacobian matrix and their Lyapunov exponent spectrum, which finally led to two general conclusions for the cases under investigation. Relevant simulations and analysis prove that the proposed system has theoretical importance and practical advantages in information security domain, such as chaotic communication, modern chaotic cryptology, etc. | |||

Abstract:By analyzing the Volterra model in frequency domain, i.e. the generalized frequency response functions (GFRF), characteristics of nonlinear system in frequency domain can be realized, and it can be applied to fault diagnosis of nonlinear system. The Volterra model identification and fault diagnosis method are two important aspects of the nonlinear spectral analysis, we have obtained some new significant progresses about these two aspects in recent year. In this paper, the theory and application based on nonlinear spectral analysis are perfectly introduced, and the new progresses are also presented. For identification of Volterra model, by reconstructing the Volterra model as a pseudo-linear combination construction, and using a constrained optimization analysis idea, a fully decoupled Volterra adaptive identification algorithm is firstly presented. The simulation results show that the fully decoupled identification algorithm can effectively improve the convergence speed and precision of adaptive identification, and its convergence process is more stable. For improving robust performance of Volterra model identification, a robust total least mean square adaptive identification algorithm is presented by defining the Volterra total mean squared error and modifying estimated gradient according to the steepest descent principle. The theoretic analysis and simulation results have indicated its excellent performance. In addition, for reducing computation requirements in fault diagnosis based on nonlinear spectral analysis, a new diagnosis method based on multiple preset GFRF models is also presented. In this method, the multiple preset GFRF models are used to describe the corresponding working mode of the system, and the fault can be directly diagnosed according to the matching extend of each preset model to the current working mode of the system. The experiment test has proved this new diagnosis method is effective. | |||

Abstract:This paper proposes a support vector machine (SVM)-based fuzzy system (SVM-FS), which has good comprehensibility as well as satisfactory generalization capability. SVM provides a mechanism to extract support vectors for generating fuzzy IF-THEN rules from training data. In SVM-FS, SVM is used to extract IF-THEN rules; the fuzzy basis function inference system is adopted as the fuzzy inference system. Furthermore, we theoretically analyze the proposed SVM-FS on the rule extraction and the inference method comparing with other fuzzy systems; comparative tests are performed using benchmark data. The analysis and the experimental results show that the new approach possesses high comprehensibility as well as satisfactory generalization capability. | |||

Abstract:An optimal control problem for collecting used products was considered in a reverse logistics system when a remanufacturing firm faces random arrivals and deterministic demands for used products. Traditionally, the return process of used products is considered as exogenous, which is out of control of the firm, and makes a huge burden for the firm. However, if the firm takes buy-back policy for used products, it will change the firm’s passive position. Firstly, a Markov Decision Process model with random input which is controlled by the price was proposed. Secondly, an optimal state-dependent solution with two critical states was given. Finally, a dynamic programming algorithm for solving the optimal state-dependent policy was developed. | |||

Abstract:A single period assemble-to-order system consisting of a manufacturer and three suppliers was considered. The manufacturer produces two different types of correlated end products, each product needs a different mix of a common set of component parts, which belong to two types, one type is specific components and the other is common components. How to manage inventories of components in such a system is of managerial interest. We formulate the inventory management problem for the system as a two-stage stochastic nonlinear integer program. We prove the decomposition of total expected profit function and give two algorithms. We solve the first stage of the problem to determine the optimal stock levels of the components by algorithm 2 and solve the second stage problem by algorithm 1, where the component allocation decisions are made. At last, we give a numerical example. | |||

Abstract:It is difficult to determine the robust stability of time-delay systems with interval parameters because the number of eigenvalues of the systems is infinite. To solve the problem of robust stability test of the systems, we develop a 2-D algebraic test for stability of time-delay systems with an edge test set based on Kharitonov vertex polynomials. Constructing a 2-D s-z hybrid polynomial family with interval parameters based on the characteristic polynomial of given interval time-delay system, the robust stability of the edges of interval 2-D polynomial can ensure the given interval delay system to be stable. Some complex Hurwitz-Schur test algorithms for the robust stability of 2-D s-z hybrid interval polynomial are provided. Simulation for an example verifies the results of the paper to be correct. | |||
