Abstract:In the eye-in-hand system, the depth is very important for visual positioning system. The image of the object moves as the camera moving, according to the image position change of the same object and the distance the camera made, the depth can be estimated. This paper deduced the relation between camera moving and the image of object moving, adopted centroid method and local voting method to detecting circle. Then used the table tennis to do the radial and the axial motion experiments and estimate the depth. The experiments proved that moving camera alongside either radial or axis direction and taking photos in different position, the depth can be calculated according to the distance the camera moved and the image changes of the same object.

Abstract:Deep convolution neural network (CNN) has achieved a great success on face recognition techniques. But most of CNN models tend to be much deeper, which are at the expenses of high consumption of computation and storage. So, it is hard for these deep CNNs applied to mobile equipments because of poor computational and memory resources. To alleviate this issue, this paper optimizes a lightened baseline CNN model by adopting an additional contrastive loss to extract more discriminative features. To further reduce the number of parameters, a pruning strategy is tried to compress our model, which slightly improves accuracy on the LFW dataset with the compression ratio of 0.7. Finally, experimental results show that the proposed method achieve state-of-the-art results with much smaller size and fewer training data.

Abstract:CO-OFDM is sensitive to phase noise (PN), which will cause common phase error (CPE) and intercarrier interference (ICI). Pilots are used to compensate for the PN. However, the phase of the comb-type pilot subcarriers (PSs) also suffers the ICI from the adjacent data-bearing subcarriers in real systems. In terms of this issue, a low-complexity comb-type pilot scheme is proposed in CO-OFDM system for testing the impact of the ICI by adding blank subcarriers (also guard subcarriers or GSs) at both sides of PSs. By increasing the number of GSs, the ICI on PSs can be reduced and a better performance of the phase compensation is achieved. The proposed pilot scheme with GSs is employed in a typical 20Gbit/s QPSK CO-OFDM system, and the simulation results show that after 50km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) transmission in conventional conditions, our scheme can reduce the error vector magnitude (EVM) by about 3%.

Abstract:Automatic caption location and recognition in videos is now recognized as a key component in the development of a advanced video annotation and retrieval systems. In this paper,a automatic caption location and recognition system is proposed, which is mainly composed of a caption location and character recognition subsystem. In the caption location module,a novel binarization technique named LMM,which makes use of the image contrast that is defined by the local image maximum and minimum is applied.Abundant experiment prove that this algorithm has good performance in suppressing the complex background in image. Multi-frames fusion is used to get a more accurately binarization image and projection method is adopted to segment the character later. Finally, extracting the characters's edge statistical information to form a feature vector, calculating the similarity between vectors to recognize the character. Do a post-processing to further improve the recognition rate. We achieved relatively satisfactory experiment results, our recognition rate is nearly 0.9 in various video .

Abstract:Based on extended state observer (ESO), we propose adaptive robust control (ARC) for dual motor driving servo system, in which there exist nonlinearities affecting control performance. First, backlash and friction phenomenon are analyzed in detail and nonlinear model of the plant is derived. Then, for the obtained nonlinear model of dual motor drive servo system with perturbation and disturbance, ESO is designed to estimate the lumped uncertainty online before designing ARC. Considering the estimated lumped disturbance signal, Lyapunov approach is employed to design adaptive law, which guarantees closed-loop stability and boundedness of all signals. Furthermore, transient performance of tracking behavior is guaranteed by initialization in the sense of $L_infty$ norm. Finally, extensive experimental results on a practical test rig validate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Abstract:This paper presents a nonlinear adaptive control framework for a class of nonlinear uncertain dynamical systems with time-varying that guarantees ultimately bounded of the closed-loop systems. In particular, it develops both full-state feedback control law and output feedback law via basis functions involving a linear growth bound. By analyzing a Lyapunov-like function, it shows that the framework guarantees ultimately bounded of the closed-loop systems.

Abstract:This paper mainly studies the stabilizability and exact observability of complex stochastic linear systems. The real stochastic system, equivalent to the complex stochastic system, is constructed in order to study the stabilizability and exact observability of the complex stochastic system with the spectrum technique. Then a necessary and sufficient condition for the stabilizability of complex stochastic systems is given with the aid of the operator spectrum. A stochastic Popov-Belevith-Hautus Criterion for exact observability is presented. As an application, a result on Lyapunov-type equations is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, considering the capacitance equivalent series resistance (ESR) and load resistance which due to running conditions caused by the factors such as parameters change, Boost converters are mainly discussed. When the range of changes for uncertain parameters is not very large, Boost converters of small signal model with uncertain parameters still can be built. After building the model, based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) and Lyapunov stability theorem, sufficient conditions of robust stabilization for Boost converters are obtained. According to the uncertain parameters are unknown but bounded, Robust state feedback controllers are designed. Finally, the numerical simulations have verified the validity of this method.

Abstract:This paper proposed a revised disaster management plan for the vessels based on Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). This plan addresses the flawless communication for the vessels in emergency and distress. GMDSS comprises of complex systems resulting in high equipment cost, operational complexity and high false alert rate which compromised the maritime safety. The proposed plan guarantees the eradication of the flaws of GMDSS by removal of unnecessary features, standardization of the emergency communication result in communication among all ships and offshore. Digital Selective Calling (DSC) is the black sheep of GMDSS and is replaced by satellite phone or GSM protocol for terrestrial communication. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is equipped with system that ensures assistance in navigation and monitoring the sea traffic; it also provides the backbone network for GSM communication. The objective of this paper is to discuss the current flaws of GMDSS and to present methods to resolve them.
