Abstract:This paper investigates the problem of using a linear sampled-data outputfeedback to globally stabilize a class of uncertain nonlinear systems subject totime-delay. The uncertainty of the system satisfies the lower-triangular growth condition affected by time-delay. A linear output feedback controller with a tunable scaling gain is constructed. The proposed control law together with the the observer control law are discrete-time, linear, and memoryless, therefore it is easy to be implemented by computers in practice.

Abstract:This paper considers the sliding mode control design problem for anonlinear control system, and a new third-order sliding mode control approach is proposed. The advantage of the third-order sliding mode control lies in that the uncertainty of the nonlinear systemcan be bounded by a positive function rather than a constant. Then, the finite-time stability analysis is also proposed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper investigates the duality between the estimation and control problems for time-delay systems. We first consider the estimation problem for linear discrete-time systems in the presenceof multiplicative noise and time delays, where the delays appear in both state and measurementequations. Based on the innovation analysis approach, the linear minimum mean square error estimators are developed in terms of a forward partial difference Riccati equationand a forward Lyapunov equation. Then the linear quadratic regulation (LQR) problem for deterministic time-delay systems is discussed based on the dynamic programming technique, and the controlleris given in terms of a backward partial difference Riccati equation and a backward Lyapunov equation. Finally, after comparing the estimation and control results, we establish a dualitybetween the estimation problem for time-delay systems with multiplicative noise andthe LQR problem for deterministic time-delay systems with constraint conditions.

Abstract:We consider the problem of global output feedbackstabilization for a class of nonlinear time-delay systems. Comparedwith the previous works, the class of nonlinear time-delay systemsis greatly enlarged. Based on a dynamic gain scaling technique, anadaptive output feedback controller independent of the time-delay isexplicitly constructed. By introducing a new scaled Lyapunovfunction and employing the Lyapunov-Krasovskii method, it is provedthat global stabilization of the nonlinear time-delay systems can beachieved by the proposed scheme.

Abstract:The problem of design a sliding mode controller with uncertain sliding surface for a class of nonlinear systems is considered. The design case involves the matched and unmatched uncertainties. In the new sliding phase design, the measurable uncertainties can be included in the sliding surface. It's shown that the sliding mode design needs not consider the uncertainties of the sliding surface, which can be handled in the reaching phase design. The results generalize the robust design of the reaching phase such that one specific reaching phase design may agree with the uncertain sliding surface.

Abstract:The suspension system plays a crucial role of the rail vehicles. The fault detection of the suspension system is an effective way to ensure the security of the safe, stable operation of rail vehicles. This paper concerns the fault detection issue of rail vehicle suspension systems with the consensus principle components analysis (CPCA). The signal information used in the fault detection is obtained from the SIMPACK and MATLAB co-simulation environment. In this paper, two typical primary spring and damper fault with coefficient reduction of 5% and 25% are detected successfully using CPCA. Compared with DPCA, the simulation results show that the CPCA method can detect smaller fault with faster response speed.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a novel binary image representation algorithm by using the Non-symmetry and Anti-packing Model (NAM) and the Coordinate Encoding Procedure, which is called NAMCEP. By taking some idiomatic standard binary images in the field of image processing as typical test objects, and by comparing our proposed NAMCEP representation with the linear quadtree (LQT) representation and the binary tree (Bintree) representation, the experimental results presented in this paper show that the NAMCEP can not only reduce the average node numbers by 75.99% and 68.22% than the LQT and the Bintree, respectively, but also can simultaneously improve the average compression ratios by 422.44% and 163.62% than the LQT and the Bintree, respectively. Therefore, our proposed NAMCEP representation algorithm of binary images is much more effective than the LQT and the Bintree representation algorithms. As an application of the NAMCEP representation, we also present a novel NAMCEP-based algorithm for area calculating. The experimental results presented in this paper also show that the average executing time improvement ratio for area calculating of the proposed NAMCEP representation over that of the LQT representation and the Bintree representation is 71.92% and 65.91%, respectively. Therefore, our proposed NAMCEP-based algorithm for area calculating is much faster than the LQT-based algorithm and the Bintree-based algorithm for area calculating.

Abstract:On the issue of WSN and Internet interconnection, this paper proposes a lightweight TCP/IPv6 stack (LW-TCP/IPv6), which is based on 6LoWPAN and can be implemented in all-IP wireless network. In our scheme, IPv6, ICMPv6, ND, UDP, TCP and IPSec have been redesigned by reducing packet header and capability. The feasibility and interoperability of LW-TCP/IP is evaluated on a simulation platform. Experiment data proves its outperformance in supportability and saving resource.

Abstract:Contraction-expansion factors play an important role in variable universe fuzzy control, which directly affects the control performance of control systems. Exponential-type and proportional- type contraction-expansion factors are the most widely used contraction-expansion factors in variable universe fuzzy control literature. First, it is pointed out that the advantages of variable universe fuzzy control derive from the chosen of contraction-expansion factor. Then, mathematically, this paper analyzes the effects of the parameters of the two contraction-expansion factors on transient and steady- state performance of control systems. Last, some design strategies for the parameters of contraction- expansion factors are developed. Simulation results for an unstable nonlinear system demonstrate that these design strategies are reasonable.

Abstract:In this paper, a necessary and sufficient conditionof the global controllability for a class of low dimensionalpolynomial affine nonlinear systems with special structure isobtained. The condition is imposed on the coefficients of thesystem only and the methods are based on Green's formula and thetrajectory analysis of planar linear system. Furthermore, we pointout that the global controllability does not hold for thecorresponding high dimensional polynomial system.
