Abstract:With the internet of thing market growing rapidly, the low rate applications occupy most of the connections of IoT. However, existing network techniques can\'t match them very well. NB-IoT owning wide coverage, low power, low cost, large connection, stands out from many candidates for low rate applications. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of NB-IoT technology, this paper deeply studies the coverage of NB-IoT by combining the features of uplink (UP) / downlink (DL) frame structure, multiplexing method and scheduling unit used by narrowband IoT (NB-IoT). Firstly, the uplink and downlink rate ability were analyzed .Then, according to the rate requirement, the coverage capability, cell capacity and throughput were quantitatively analyzed and suggestions about the NB-IoT network planning were given.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the source localizationfor the multiple near-field narrowband signals impinging on a symmetricuniform linear array (ULA) in nonuniform noise. We introduce the matrix completion (MC) approach to reconstruct the noise-freecovariance matrix for estimating the signal subspace. Then, some existingsource localization methods can be applied immediately. Finally, the effectivenessof the proposed method is verified through numerical examples.

Abstract:In this paper, we deal with the problem of localizing mixed far-field (FF)and near-field (NF) sources impinging on a uniform linear arraywith the symmetrical geometric configuration. An efficient method for localization of the mixed FF and NF sources is proposed, where the direction-of-arrivals (DOAs) of the mixed sources are estimated separately by using the oblique projection, and then the ranges of the NF sources are obtained through a polynomial rooting, while the computationally burdensome eigendecomposition and pair-matching are avoided. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through numerical examples, and the simulation results show that the proposed method has better estimation performancethan some existing methods.

Abstract:Kernel fuzzy C-means(KFCM) algorithm is proposed to manage fingerprint database (also known as radio map) collected from WiFi indoor positioning system. Clustering method greatly reduces the calculation load of position match process. By setting the cluster amount k before initialization, after constant iteration of cluster centers' renewal as well as membership' update until the objective function is minimized or reaches the preset conditions, the database is fuzzily divided into k clusters with k representative centers. With the purpose of obtaining superior clustering performance and better localization precision, this paper proposed several improvements. First, choose optimal interval of reference points(RP) and the amount of access point(AP) to build fingerprint database in order to enhance positioning precision; second, deduce an applicable cluster amount based on the structure characteristics of fingerprint database using sample density method; third, by approximating actual kernel matrix to a hypothetical ideal kernel matrix derives to a kernel parameter that is more appropriate for the radio map. Assessment criteria VXB is proposed to verify the effectiveness of kernel parameter's optimization based on Iris dataset. By means of the parameters adjustment above, the clustering result is more suitable for the selected datasets, and the last two improvements lead to 19.5% and 23.55% improvement in localization accuracy.

Abstract:We successfully demonstrated a novel gallium nitride (GaN) nanowire (NW)/p-GaNhomojunction UV photodetector via in-situ grown vertical well-aligned (GaN) nanowires grown on p-GaN/sapphire by vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) process. The length of GaN nanowires was in the range of 2-3μm and the diameter was in the range 200-300 nm. The current-voltage curve of the homojunction demonstrates obvious rectifying diode behavior in a dark environment. Under UV light (365nm,mercury lamp), the current was almost 6 times larger than that in dark current at -1 V. Continuous measurements indicate the reproducibility and stability of this homojunctionphotodetector.

Abstract:In this paper, the surface of the indium-tin-oxide (ITO) anode of an organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) device was treated by N2O or N2 gas in a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) instrument. Compared to the non-treated OLED device, the treatment by the N2O plasma improved the characteristics of OLED device, while the treatment by the N2 plasma worsened the characteristics of OLED device. On the optimized experimental condition, the turn-on voltage of the N2O plasma treated OLED (8.6 V) was lower than that of the OLED without plasma treated ones (11.1 V). In addition, the luminance of the OLED with its ITO anode surface treated by the N2O plasma was improved to 50 cd/m2, higher than the 42 cd/m2 of the untreated OLED.

Abstract:This paper proposes an improved event-triggered mechanism for networked cascade control system $(NCCS)$ with network-induced delay and stochastic nonlinearities. Firstly, different from the conventional method by preestablishing a fixed triggering parameter, the improved event-triggered mechanism in this paper can adaptively adjust the triggering parameter with respect to the time interval and the dynamic error to reduce the transmission rate while limiting the maximum allowable number of continuous packet loss $(MAPL)$. Secondly, a model of $NCCS$ is established with consideration of network-induced delay, multiplicative stochastic nonlinearities and uncertainties. The multiplicative stochastic disturbances are in the form of a scalar Gaussian white noise with unit variance. Thirdly, by using the linear matrix inequality $(LMI)$ method, sufficient conditions are established that ensure the mean-square stability of the $NCCS$, and then controllers' parameters are characterized by the solution to a set of $LMI$. Finally, two examples are exploited to show the effectiveness of the proposed event-triggered mechanism.

Abstract:Communication-based train control (CBTC) systems are automated train control systems using wireless communications. Data communication is extremely important in CBTC systems. Train ground communication system which includes too many interfaces between various subsystems and excessive ground equipment is used as traditional CBTC data communication system. In next generation CBTC systems, train-to-train communication is adopted with the advantages of higher-speed, larger-capacity per unit time and the briefer structure in comparison with traditional CBTC system. Although train-to-train communication based CBTC systems has been implemented in urban rail systems. The system availability has not been studied before. In this paper, deterministic and stochastic Petri nets(DSPN) is used for the CBTC system to characterize its normal operation probability. Several typical data communication scenarios are depicted and simulated with DSPN. The impact of different scenario parameters on CBTC system operation is discussed. The availability of the next generation CBTC system is compared with the traditional CBTC system as well.

Abstract:Most of the existing urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems are based on Wireless Local Networks (WLAN) technologies. With frequency interference and the increase of train speed, WLAN is incapable of meeting the requirements of CBTC train ground communication systems. Time Division-Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology begins to be considered in urban rail transit systems. In this paper, we first design a TD-LTE based urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems, the handover procedure and handover requirements according to CBTC system principle are analyzed next. In order to verify swhether the designed TD-LTE based system meet the handover performance demands when trains travel in high speed CBTC systems, a laboratory test environment and a real field test environment are set up. Massive test results show that the handover performance of TD-LTE based urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems meets the demands of urban rail transit systems.

Abstract:Millimeter wave have received more and more attention to meet the remarkable growth of wireless data traffic due to the massive available bandwidths. In this paper, we will analyze and optimize the system performance of emph{millimeter Waves} communication with directional cell discovery based on beam scanning. We first establish the system model with beam scanning and analyze the corresponding system performance considering the relationship between the number of beam scanning and the beamforming gain. Since changing the number of beam scanning,$K$, is corresponding to adjust the cell searching delay, $K$ can be optimized to maximum the system capacity and reduce pilot signal overhead. The simulation and analysis show that there exists an optimal $K$ which not only makes the system capacity maximum but also trade off the cell searching delay and the beam gain.
