Abstract:With the rapid development of the applications of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in various fields, such as internet of things, military collaborative operations, e-government, telemedicine, etc., the security, the energy-efficiency and the storage-saving are undoubtedly highlighted in the research of WSNs. Compressive sensing (CS) can compress and reconstruct sparse or compressible signals with fewer samples than those of Nyquist-Shannon theorem requires. In order to meet the requirements of storage, energy-efficiency and security of WSNs simultaneously, we propose an efficient and secure transmission model based on compressive sensing and hash-chain theory, which is called hash-chain compressive sensing (HCCS). Compared with the traditional compressive sensing, only the initial key and the hash function are used in the sensor node to decrease the storage space. And the characteristics of hash-chain assure the security of data transmission under HCCS. Furthermore, we propose an image encryption method based on HCCS in order to improve the efficiency and security of image transmission. The security of image signal is greatly improved by adopting the double-encryption mechanism, which uses the measurement matrix $\Phi _1$ and the encryption matrix $\Phi _2$. The numerical experiments are performed to show the feasibility of HCCS and the effectiveness of the proposed image transmission model.

Abstract:OpenAirInterface, or OAI, platform, which is an open-source software-based platform, was proposed to emulate a whole process of LTE system spanning full protocol stack of 3GPP standard. The platform--usually comprises of an OAI eNB, an OAI EPC and several OAI UEs--has great potential for operators to deploy new services/application in an ever-changing fast paced cellular networks, since it can significantly reduce CAPEX and OPEX. As a cost-effective means, it provides powerful support for the research of other related LTE technologies. In this article, state-of-the-art research on OAI platform are surveyed, and other technologies based on the platform, such as MIMO and C-RAN, are introduced. In particular, we discuss both of the software and hardware requirements when establish an OAI platform. As for each component of the whole network, we display how they configure and run under the Linux operating system. At the end of the article, we show three examples of application based on a testbed we design including two OAI UEs and an OAI eNB, from which the performance gain of LTE is well demonstrated.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a bidirectional two-way relaying selection network consisting of a source, a destination and multiply half-duplex decode-and-forward (DF) relays. Firstly, we consider three time slots transmission model. In the first slot, selected relay applies time-switching protocol to harvest radio frequency energy radiated by source and destination; in the remaining slots, selected relay cooperates source and destination for information exchange. Secondly, due to finite-size data buffer and finite-size battery of relay, we propose optimal relay selection and power allocation policy, under the delay-tolerant and delay-constraint constraints. Without considering the link outage, users can adaptively adjust transmission rate to maximize system sum-throughput. In addition, we analyze the effect of transmission time on sum-throughput. However, our sum-throughput optimization problem is a non-convex problem. Further, we relax relay selection coefficient and use Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions. The optimal power is obtained by Lagrange dual decomposition. Simulations can prove that sum-throughput of our proposed strategy is affected by buffer size and battery capacity, as well as time allocation of each transmission phase.

Abstract:We investigate the problem of cross-tier interference control in full-duplex (FD) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) based heterogeneous networks (HetNets) consisting of macrocell and underlaying femtocells. A price mechanism is introduced where the macro base station (MBS) and femtocell base stations (FBSs) all aim to maximize their own utility function considering finite interference constraint. We propose a triple optimization strategy of power control, subcarrier allocation and price regulation which can solve the cross-tier interference optimization problem of femtocell to macrocell. We analyze the superiority of the barrier method for the utility function of the macrocell, and to a certain extent, it has a better convergence. Through the experiment, we can see that the proposed the triple resource allocation algorithm can effectively suppress cross-tier interference and maximize the utility of macrocell and femtocells.

Abstract:Object tracking is a hot and difficult research topic in computer vision. In this paper, we propose a object tracking algorithm based on L2 regularization least squares method and convolution network under the particle filter framework. Firstly, the extent of occlusion can be evaluated by L2 tracker. Secondly, convolutional networks is used to locate the target object if the extent of occlusion satisfies two inequality constraints. In order to make convolutional networks suitable for tracking tasks with high real-time requirements, this thesis uses a simple two-layer convolutional networks to represent the targets robustly. Finally, most of the insignificant samples are removed before applying convolutional networks, which reduces the complexity of the algorithm. The experimental results on numerous challenging image sequences show that the proposed method is more robust and stable than L2 tracker when the target object undergoes dramatic appearance changes such as pose variation or rotation and is superior in accuracy to other classical tracking algorithms.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the problem of estimatingthe directions-of-arrival (DOAs) and ranges of multiple nearfieldnarrowband signals impinging on a symmetric uniformlinear array (ULA) in presence of complicated noise (e.g., in nonuniform noise) in practical applications.By forming a Toeplitz-like correlation matrix from the antidiagonalelements of the array covariance matrix, a new subspace-basedlocalization method is proposed, where the null space is obtainedthrough eigendecomposition of the resultant Toeplitz-like matrix, and the MUSIC method is used to estimate the locationparameters. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified throughnumerical examples.

Abstract:The enhancement of optical properties via thermal annealing on InP/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) film was investigated in this work. The increase of emission intensities of the QDs films was observed after thermal annealing at 180 ℃ for 5 minutes. Through temperature dependence photoluminescence (TDPL) and power dependence photoluminescence (PL) measurement, the peak located at the low-energy shoulder was confirmed to be localized states emission and the high energy one comes from free-carrier emission. Moreover, from the TDPL spectra of the sample anneal at 180 ℃ for 5 minutes, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of localization states emission was nearly the same before 250 K, and then decreased with increasing temperature. However, the FWHM was decreased significantly with temperature increased in the untreated sample. We conclude that the escape of localization states with increasing temperature contributes to this anomaly phenomenon. Our studies have significance on the application of QDs in electroluminescence or down-conversion light-emitting applications.
