Abstract:This paper presents a novel power/ground planes for suppressing the ground bounce noise (GBN) by utilizing a two-dimensional photonic bandgap (PBG) structures. The proposed PBG structure adopts spiral-shaped defects on power plane of power/ground planes. Due to the spiral-shaped defects, the equivalents shunt inductance varies in wide range. The proposed structure behaves high performance of suppressing GBN within a very broadband frequency range from 0.5 GHz to 5GHz.

Abstract:A nonlinear self-consistent simulation code is employed to investigate the behavior of the outer-slotted-coaxial waveguide gyrotron traveling-wave amplifier (gyro-TWA). The influences of the velocity pitch, frequency and input power of the electron beam on efficiency, output power and saturated gain are simulated and discussed in detail. It is predicted that this design with 95GHz, TE3,1 will yield a peak output power of 264.3KW, a peak efficiency of 33.7% and saturated gain of 44.2dB.
