Abstract:In high density scenarios Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) faces serious interference, which results in the contradiction between low throughput and people's requirement. With the development and application of network communication technology, the fairness communication of high throughput in high density WLAN has become one of the important problems to be solved urgently. When each network node has the same transmission power and the Ad Hoc model of WLAN is adopted, the backoff algorithm in Media Access Control (MAC) protocol has an important influence on the performance of WLAN. Aiming at the shortages of the existing backoff algorithm, combined with the advantages of logarithmic backoff (LB) algorithm and adaptive adjustment factor for contention window (CW), an adaptive logarithmic backoff (ALB) algorithm is proposed, which can dynamically change the contention window with the contention of the channel, so as to reduce the probability of the collision between the network nodes. Compared with the existing binary exponential backoff (BEB) algorithm, exponential increase exponential decrease (EIED) algorithm and logarithmic backoff (LB) algorithm, the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the network performance in aspects of fairness, throughput, packet-loss rate and network delay.

Abstract:Considering the explosive growth of the wireless device and the serious circumstance for static spectrum allocation, the scarcity of radio frequency has become an increasingly apparent problem. Cognitive radio ad hoc networks(CRAHNs) is an emerging technology opportunistically accessing the licensed spectrum of the primary user(PU) by the secondary user(SU), which can improve the usability of existing allocated frequency spectrum. If SUs want to correspond with any other users, they should establish a communication topology network to exchange messages simultaneously and efficiently. Many methods to establish communication links between two users have been proposed. however, a multi-terminal networking technology is under-explored. In this paper, how to establish the self-organizing network without common control channel(CCC) is proposed. The protocol builds a novel dynamic tree-based architecture for CRAHNs. Meanwhile, we discuss several factors which played a key role in networking technology. A fast networking protocol meets the mounting demand. Through optimization analysis and graph theory, the method we propose tries to reduce the networking time and build a stable network. Extensive simulations and analysis were conducted to evaluate the performance of the algorithm in terms of the success rate and networking time.

Abstract:Smart grid (SG) is the next-generation electric power system to improve the performance of traditional power grid. Wireless sensor network (WSNs) have been used to achieve seamless, energy efficient, reliable and low-cost remote monitoring and control in SG applications. Recently, 6LoWPAN makes it possible for IPv6 communication with low cost and low power nodes. So IPv6-based WSNs are thought to be of great prospect in SG. In heterogeneous WSNs, energy-efficient clustering algorithms are used to reduce the energy consumption. In this paper, we present an architecture of smart grid based on IPv6-based WSNs at first and then propose an improved distributed energy efficient clustering algorithm (IDEEC) for the presented WSNs. We simplify the probability threshold, improve the cluster head selection probability and optimize the estimation of the average energy of network. Simulation results confirm the performance supremacy of IDEEC compared to current clustering protocols in terms of network life, number of messages, mean and variance of cluster heads (CHs) . Furthermore, IDEEC takes the minimum running time, which makes it easier to be applied in reality.

Abstract:High spectrum efficiency and low complexity make carrierless amplitude and phase modulation(CAP) become a prominsing method in visible light communition(VLC).However, the receiver of CAP is so highly sensitive to the error of timing because of serious cross chanel interference(CCI) that the system needs a precise synchronization to prevent this kind of interference. In this paper,a feedback loop based on interpolation filter is used on CAP receiver to realize symbol synchroniziaton. Furthermore,we established the transmitter and receiver based on indoor visible light communication system in free space with which we completed an off-line experiment achieving the precise synchronisation of 16CAP signals at the highest speed of 500Mbit/s based on single red led channel; Finally we compared the performance of the system at different distance and speed using this method of symbol synchronisation.

Abstract:Different positioning methods currently have limitations in respective application scenarios, so the integration of positioning has become a hot topic. In terms of data integration, inconsistent and fluctuations of the positioning data makes it difficult when fit the data. To solve this problem, the paper presents a method for position data filtering and data fusion normalization. Firstly, heterogeneous data sets are filtered with R-EWMA algorithm to obtain higher quality fusional data, and then fusion data are normalized with a modified Z-score normalization method without affecting the positioning accuracy and confidence. The study is mainly targeted at preprocessing work of multi-source heterogeneous data fusion, and to some extent excluding the invalid data. Experimental results show that TDOA and RSSI Location noise fluctuations have improved significantly through the methods, and the normalized space is in accordance with the fusion requirement, which will be effectively applied to the next study of fusion location.

Abstract:A single-antenna multi-relay system base on vector quantization which includes direct links is proposed in this paper. First, relay system model that is equivalent to a virtual Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system, and the source node imports time-domain precoding matrix. Second, mutual information is taken as system optimization objective, and vector quantization (VQ) method is used to build a codebook and power allocation matrix. Practically, as the receiver can't acquire a perfect channel state information (CSI), so the limited feedback idea is used, receiver sends the part of CSI information to source node, the source node according to this, uses the VQ method to build a codebook, then the relay system precoding design is completed. simulation results show that the proposed VQ-based precoding has improved system capacity and reduced bit error rate .

Abstract:Due to the dynamic relative motion of the mobile station and the satellite, the signal is affected by varied frequency offset, resulting in a worse performance, such as a higher bit error rate (BER) in the low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication system. Considering that a mobile station is usually covered by several LEO satellites., this paper presents a novel scheme on adjusting OFDM subcarrier interval, which would properly make use of multiple link signals to achieve a maximum user capacity. What's more, BER would be controlled at a reasonable threshold value by eliminating the inter carrier interference (ICI). The signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of the received signal is analyzed theoretically, and the formula of BER as well as user capacity is derived out according to the very circumstance. And simulation is presented to demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves a much larger user capacity by searching for the optimum subcarrier interval.

Abstract:Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC), which is an emerging 5G waveform candidate, has gained wide attention in recent years. The properties of UFMC is very close to OFDM, while the former has better spectrum properties than the latter. UFMC is more suitable for short-burst communication systems than other 5G waveform candidates, for example, Filter-Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC). However, the complexity of conventional UFMC transmitter is much higher than OFDM. To solve this problem, this paper firstly present a low complexity transmitter structure based on the combination of small-size IFFT and time-domain interpolation. On the basis of this, a new Polyphase Network (PPN) based UFMC transmitter with much lower computational complexity is proposed. Our PPN based approach eventually brings the complexity of UFMC transmitter down to the same level as OFDM, and makes the complexity of UFMC transmitter even lower than OFDM in some special conditions. This PPN based low complexity implementation makes UFMC more suitable for the devices with low computing power.

Abstract:Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) technology provides a good support for vehicle networking communication because its high speed, large capacity, low delay and other characteristics. But for the highway, which is sensitive to delay, the periodic transmission of the beacon in the LTE-A system leads to an intolerable delay. To optimize the delay, this paper improve a distributed peer discovery protocol. The proposed protocol requires vehicles to advertise their presence, and Evolved NodeB (eNB) divides them into clusters following a certain rule, which we called peer discovery. In order to minimize delay occupancy, vehicles in different groups broadcast their information on the same slot. Our numerical analysis indicates that under the same discovery probability, the delay is reduced by 60%.
