Abstract:To cope with the challenge of successful edge offloading brought by the mobility of mobile devices in intelligent factories, this paper studies the optimization problem of the edge offloading strategy of mobile devices based on mobility. Considering the decision task flow executed by priority, the unique offloading method of a single task, the communication range of the edge server, and the delay constraint of the offloading of a single task, appropriate computing resources are selected according to the real-time location of the mobile device to offload the computing task. Based on the edge computing architecture of an intelligent factory, this paper puts forward five different computation offloading methods. From a global perspective, the energy consumption and delay of tasks offloading in local, edge, cloud center, local-edge collaboration, and local-edge-cloud collaboration are considered. In this paper, the algorithm based on genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization is used to design the optimal decision task flow offloading strategy which can obtain the minimum energy consumption and delay. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the computation offloading energy consumption and delay of mobile devices.

Abstract:Collision avoidance as an essential use case for vehicular networks can effectively enhance the safety of vehicles. This paper addresses how to avoid collision between vehicles and vulnerable road users(VRU), i.e., pedestrians, cyclists or motorists equipped with smartphones. Due to the limited computation resource and processing capability of smartphones, mobile edge computing (MEC) is introduced. MEC is utilized to reduce the transmission delay and relieve the network congestion, by pushing computation resource and processing capability to network edge. In particular, this paper focuses on a collision avoidance scenario including an edge collision detector, multiple vehicles and VRUs. In addition, we propose a minimum bandwidth occupation algorithm for collision warning. By calculating the consumed bandwidth of two different candidate alerting methods, we are able to decide the most efficient way, which occupates minimum bandwidth, to avoid the colliison.

Abstract:Using wireless signals to implement new type of human-computer interaction is a hot topic in recent years. In this paper, we try to use the received signal strength indicators (RSSI) of multi-channel Wi-Fi frames to achieve fine-grained handwriting recognition. A New method of Handwriting Detection Algorithm whose average precision rate and recall rate of handwriting detection have been respectively achieved to 91.77% and 97.19% is proposed. We also designed a new kind of weighted k-nearest neighbors algorithm (WKNN) which is improved by multi-dimensional dynamic time warping (MD-DTW). It can achieve an average accuracy of 91% in the classification of 26 letters in experimental environment.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a bidirectional two-way relaying selection network consisting of a source, a destination and multiply half-duplex decode-and-forward (DF) relays. Firstly, we consider three time slots transmission model. In the first slot, selected relay applies time-switching protocol to harvest radio frequency energy radiated by source and destination; in the remaining slots, selected relay cooperates source and destination for information exchange. Secondly, due to finite-size data buffer and finite-size battery of relay, we propose optimal relay selection and power allocation policy, under the delay-tolerant and delay-constraint constraints. Without considering the link outage, users can adaptively adjust transmission rate to maximize system sum-throughput. In addition, we analyze the effect of transmission time on sum-throughput. However, our sum-throughput optimization problem is a non-convex problem. Further, we relax relay selection coefficient and use Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions. The optimal power is obtained by Lagrange dual decomposition. Simulations can prove that sum-throughput of our proposed strategy is affected by buffer size and battery capacity, as well as time allocation of each transmission phase.

Abstract:We investigate the problem of cross-tier interference control in full-duplex (FD) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) based heterogeneous networks (HetNets) consisting of macrocell and underlaying femtocells. A price mechanism is introduced where the macro base station (MBS) and femtocell base stations (FBSs) all aim to maximize their own utility function considering finite interference constraint. We propose a triple optimization strategy of power control, subcarrier allocation and price regulation which can solve the cross-tier interference optimization problem of femtocell to macrocell. We analyze the superiority of the barrier method for the utility function of the macrocell, and to a certain extent, it has a better convergence. Through the experiment, we can see that the proposed the triple resource allocation algorithm can effectively suppress cross-tier interference and maximize the utility of macrocell and femtocells.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the vertical sectorization in a downlink cellular network and optimize the identify threshold of vertical sectorization and antenna downtilt of each vertical sector. Firstly, we use gamma distribution to approximate the achievable sum-rates of the cellular networks with vertical sectorization. Then, according to the approximation, we formulate an optimization problem to maximize system throughput and achieve the optimization solution through a simple algorithm. The simulation results show that the system sum-rates can be improved by optimizing the number of vertical sectors, the threshold of vertical sectorization, and the antenna downtilt.

Abstract:Smart grid (SG) is the next-generation electric power system to improve the performance of traditional power grid. Wireless sensor network (WSNs) have been used to achieve seamless, energy efficient, reliable and low-cost remote monitoring and control in SG applications. Recently, 6LoWPAN makes it possible for IPv6 communication with low cost and low power nodes. So IPv6-based WSNs are thought to be of great prospect in SG. In heterogeneous WSNs, energy-efficient clustering algorithms are used to reduce the energy consumption. In this paper, we present an architecture of smart grid based on IPv6-based WSNs at first and then propose an improved distributed energy efficient clustering algorithm (IDEEC) for the presented WSNs. We simplify the probability threshold, improve the cluster head selection probability and optimize the estimation of the average energy of network. Simulation results confirm the performance supremacy of IDEEC compared to current clustering protocols in terms of network life, number of messages, mean and variance of cluster heads (CHs) . Furthermore, IDEEC takes the minimum running time, which makes it easier to be applied in reality.

Abstract:High spectrum efficiency and low complexity make carrierless amplitude and phase modulation(CAP) become a prominsing method in visible light communition(VLC).However, the receiver of CAP is so highly sensitive to the error of timing because of serious cross chanel interference(CCI) that the system needs a precise synchronization to prevent this kind of interference. In this paper,a feedback loop based on interpolation filter is used on CAP receiver to realize symbol synchroniziaton. Furthermore,we established the transmitter and receiver based on indoor visible light communication system in free space with which we completed an off-line experiment achieving the precise synchronisation of 16CAP signals at the highest speed of 500Mbit/s based on single red led channel; Finally we compared the performance of the system at different distance and speed using this method of symbol synchronisation.

Abstract:Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC), which is an emerging 5G waveform candidate, has gained wide attention in recent years. The properties of UFMC is very close to OFDM, while the former has better spectrum properties than the latter. UFMC is more suitable for short-burst communication systems than other 5G waveform candidates, for example, Filter-Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC). However, the complexity of conventional UFMC transmitter is much higher than OFDM. To solve this problem, this paper firstly present a low complexity transmitter structure based on the combination of small-size IFFT and time-domain interpolation. On the basis of this, a new Polyphase Network (PPN) based UFMC transmitter with much lower computational complexity is proposed. Our PPN based approach eventually brings the complexity of UFMC transmitter down to the same level as OFDM, and makes the complexity of UFMC transmitter even lower than OFDM in some special conditions. This PPN based low complexity implementation makes UFMC more suitable for the devices with low computing power.

Abstract:Satellite communications network is a kind of delay tolerant network with characters of intermittent connection, long packet queuing time, complex and uncertain delay time, etc. The call congestion rate of new business is higher in delay tolerant network which leads to the reduction of communication quality and the high error code rate. The existing traffic flow prediction scheme is hard to meet new business and individual requirements. It becomes more and more important to study the most effective traffic prediction scheme so as to increase the satellite bandwidth utilization. In this paper, BP neural network (BPNN) has been used as regression model, and the Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been used to search the weights matrix and thresholds of BP neural network. Then the satellite traffic flow prediction scheme based on wavelet neural network and genetic algorithm (WNNGA) was put forward. Simulation results with the real traffic traces show that the proposed method can more accurately predict the future of the satellite network traffic and decrease the processing time compared with previous model method.?????
