Abstract:The primary goal of this research is to investigate the energy efficiency improvement methods in MAC protocol design for event-driven wireless sensor networks (WSN). Energy efficiency is essential to wireless sensor networks, while latency and reliability are critical in event-driven applications. The key challenge is to minimize the energy consumption without jeopardizing latency and reliability requirements of various applications. Typical event-driven applications consist of both regular monitoring period and event reporting period, the traffic loads of which are quite different. To the best of our knowledge, no existing results in the literature can optimize the energy efficiency simultaneously for these two different traffic loads. In this paper, the characteristics of event-driven sensor network applications will be studied, and specific requirements will be provided.

Abstract:Power Network Management plays a key role in ensuring the normal operation of power telecommunication network. However, with the complexity development of power telecommunication networks and the diversity of network technology, it has brought some difficulties to daily operation, maintenance and expansion of power telecommunication network. Traditional power telecommunication network management no longer meets the requirements. In this paper, a new power telecommunication network management system is proposed, which is also an intelligent analytical system. Secondly, the architecture of intelligence analysis system of power telecommunication is introduced. Thirdly, more details about the system, such as: data acquisition, network status assessment, network of early warning, system management etc., is discussed in detail. This new system has been developed and tested to meet the design requirements.

Abstract:Along with the growing of telecommunication networks, devices of access networks contribute to a significant of total energy consumed by telecommunication network sectors. In recent studies, sleep mode is used as a common approach to reduce energy consumption in Ethenet passive optical networks(EPON). When the traffic of an optical network unit(ONU) meets certain conditions, Optical line terminal(OLT) allows ONU to switch from active mode into sleep mode, in order to reduce energy consumption. In this paper, a novel power saving mechanism for 10 Gbit/s Enthernet passive optical network(10G EPON) is proposed based on a centric dynamic bandwidth algorithm(DBA). The OLT assigns upstream and downstream bandwidth allocations for all ONUs in a centric way at the beginning of every DBA cycle, and informs ONUs to sleep within a period or sleep for several periods depending on the previously average traffic load in both downstream and upstream. The simulation results reveal that an ONU stays on sleep mode for more than 50% of the observation time averagely, and the average delay and packet loss of all ONUs prevail the requirments of access network when 10G EPON system is not at full capacity.

Abstract:As we know, hard handover scheme is adopted for LTE systems in recent years. In order to improve the performance of the overall system, L3-filter, hysteresis, and time-to-trigger window are investigated. In this paper, we propose a new mechanism with an adaptive time to trigger window mechanism to overcome the ping-pong effects and improve the capacity of the whole system. In our simulation, the new mechanism shows less number of handovers, and reduces the number of ping-pong handovers to some extent. To decrease the complexity, our main subject is intra-frequency handover.

Abstract:We propose a novel auto repeat request (ARQ) protocol with cross layer design, in order to guarantee quality-of-service (QoS) for wireless multi-hop network. With the cross layer design, the ARQ mechanism has the promise to meet different QoS requirements and adapt to various channel conditions. With the self-configure mechanism of the mode of end to end or hop by hop ARQ, the novel ARQ protocol can meet the time delay need of different service. The theory analysis and simulation results show that the proposed mechanism can improve user experience of various services under heavy burden transmission condition, and improve the network performance significantly.

Abstract:Nowdays, the rapid growth on the usage of the p2p applications has promoted the development of Internet, at the same time which led to problems, such as network congestion and network security. this paper aims at the basic peer to peer character of P2P network, each peer is both server and client. ration between upload traffic and download traffic is proposed to identify the p2p service base on the machine learning method. By investigating the ration of five p2p applications, a character set is obtained for identification, In this method there is no need to detect content of packet payload, so it can work efficiently and easy to implement.

Abstract:The development gateway of a country would be the well-developed infrastructure specially the telecommunication. The telecommunication would be the foundation for the development of the information technology. Mongolia is catching up with the latest development of the telecommunication and information technologies. Recently, Ulaanbaatar capital and some capitals of province have been connected with a high-speed fiber optic cable network. Twenty-one provinces and their 330 sums (the second level of administrative subdivision in a province) have been covered with nation wide mobile network provided by the national carriers, i.e. MobiCom, Skytel and Unitel, G-mobile. The next generations of mobile services 3.5G or WCDMA, will be introduced to Mongolian market and it will allow the high-speed data and media transmission. Goal of the project is to use main mobile services, Internet connection and SMS, to build a cost effective and reliable network for Gasoline Company and its Gas stations. The project design is based on CDMA 2000 1x mobile network of the Mongolian main mobile service provider, Skytel Company.

Abstract:An ad hoc network is composed of a group of mobile and wireless nodes whose power provided by batteries. Energy saving is a crucial problem in ad hoc networks. Various energy saving schemes are required to lengthen the network’s lifetime. A novel energy-saving scheme for ad hoc networks is proposed in this paper, which limited the broadcasting range of the route discovery information through forwarding decision based on distance. Extensive simulation has been done to compare the performances between the proposed scheme and the traditional AODV protocol. The simulation results show that the novel scheme could save more energy.
