Abstract:In this paper, we present a design framework for fixed-point implementation of the log-domainmessage passing algorithm (Log-MPA) for sparse code multiple access (SCMA) signals, and make a detailed comparative analysis on the complexity of Log-MPA and traditional MPA.We also investigate the impact of the number of massage-passing iterations within the Log-MPAdecoding process.Simulation results demonstrate that Log-MPA achieves favorable performance withlow-complexity hardware implementation as compared to MPA.

Abstract:Routing and spectrum allocation is one of the most important problems in flexi-grid optical networks. Flexi-grid opticla network can improve the spectrum efficiency to a large extent compared with traditional fixed grid WDM optical networks. While the dynamic lightpath setup and teardown procedure will inevitably lead to traffic unbalancing which may block the new connections under the constraints of spectrum continuity and consecutiveness. Traffic balancing can distribute the services into the entire network, and then the probability of service collisions will be reduced. Simulation results indicate that RSA algorithm which consider the performance of traffic balancing is better than the one which only consider the performance of spectrum resource utilization.

Abstract:As we know, hard handover scheme is adopted for LTE systems in recent years. In order to improve the performance of the overall system, L3-filter, hysteresis, and time-to-trigger window are investigated. In this paper, we propose a new mechanism with an adaptive time to trigger window mechanism to overcome the ping-pong effects and improve the capacity of the whole system. In our simulation, the new mechanism shows less number of handovers, and reduces the number of ping-pong handovers to some extent. To decrease the complexity, our main subject is intra-frequency handover.

Abstract:This paper proposes a multi-hop synchronization protocol for multiple physiological information transmission over the body sensor network (BSN). A packet reconstitution mechanism was designed to achieve synchronous transmission. The experimental results validated the efficiency of the protocol on continuous real-time monitoring of multiple physiological parameters over multi-hop BSNs.

Abstract:An ad hoc network is composed of a group of mobile and wireless nodes whose power provided by batteries. Energy saving is a crucial problem in ad hoc networks. Various energy saving schemes are required to lengthen the network’s lifetime. A novel energy-saving scheme for ad hoc networks is proposed in this paper, which limited the broadcasting range of the route discovery information through forwarding decision based on distance. Extensive simulation has been done to compare the performances between the proposed scheme and the traditional AODV protocol. The simulation results show that the novel scheme could save more energy.

Abstract:Clustering sensor nodes is an effective technique to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. In this paper we investigate the impact of heterogeneity of nodes, in terms of their energy and data amount, and propose a novel adaptive, distributed, energy efficient clustering algorithm AEEC for wireless sensor networks, which better suits the heterogeneous sensor networks. Our approach elects cluster heads based on the node energy relative to that of whole network, which can employ energy more efficiently in heterogeneous networks. Simulation results show that AEEC can prolong the stable region of lifetime compared to the other clustering algorithm, and the average throughput is increased effectively of wireless sensor networks. Abstract:In this paper, we present an algorithm to construct the convolutional multicast network coding over any finite directed cyclic graph from a brand-new point. In this algorithm, we consider the dual line graph of a directed cyclic graph as a system, in which the global encoding kernels in the original graph are the corresponding inputs or outputs and the local encoding kernels in original graph are gains of channels. Then we can construct the convolutional multicast by using the classical Mason formula on the system.

Abstract:Providing Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees for heterogeneous classes of traffic with different QoS requirements in fixed Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system is a very important issue. Although IEEE 802.16d MAC protocol has been proposed to support QoS for various kinds of applications, there are still some key points undefined in the protocol, such as the resource allocation and bandwidth request algorithms etc. In this paper, we propose a new resource allocation algorithm for the IEEE 802.16d protocol and present a novel resource reservation scheme. Our algorithm provides QoS support to real-time traffic with high priority while maintaining bandwidth to low priority traffic. Analytical and simulation results illustrate our architecture.
