Abstract:Visualization Toolkit (VTK) is an object oriented visualization class library for 3-Dimension graphics, visualization, and image processing. It provides technological support for those who work at visualization. The Visualization Toolkit have so strong ability that it can not only provide powerful visualization, but also support formidable image processing and finite element analysis as well as for scalar, vector, tensor rebuilding. VTK have extremely significance for the researchers who devoted to the application visualization and system development. In this paper the mechanism and visualization structure are introduced, and how to deal with mass data is analyzed. Finally several visualization examples are given.

Abstract:Nowadays, Service Grid based on OGSA becomes the mainstream. System QoS is an important indicator reflecting system performance and status, as well as a reference of some Grid scheduling system. Due to its complexity of grid environment, the metric method of grid QoS is then a challenging study. In the main body of this paper, we proposed an efficient metric method which classifies QoS parameters according to different categories of resources, calculations and operations, and further make data acquisition and archiving through system performance sensors, then finally value of QoS is able to be calculated according to the calculation method of QoS metric and the requirements of scheduling and optimizing system.

Abstract:A novel method for the interactive detail preserving deformation of 3D meshes is proposed in this paper. It is based on preserving the distances between each vertex and its adjacent vertices and the angles between edges formed by each vertex and its adjacent vertices. The distances and the angles are invariant on global and local coordinates over the rigid transformations. If preserving the distances and the angles it can preserve the local details and volumetric details of the mesh, which is important requirement of mesh deformation. The mesh is deformed by specifying constraints of vertices positions. These constraints are incorporated in the distances and the angles reconstruction equations, and their solution produces a deformed surface geometry that preserves the local detail in the least-squares sense. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method with several detail-preserving deformation operators.

Abstract:Web service and SOA are becoming more and more popular in today’s enterprise. While just a small amount of technology savvy people in the business know how to compose the existed services into a new service to satisfy the new requirement of the business department, we implemented a browser based BPEL4WS development environment to make the service composition easy enough for other not so much technology savvy people to do by lowering the barrier of using the technology. Furthermore, by introducing the web2.0 technologies into the platform we developed, it is easy for the users to share the new service developed as well as its business process with each other and therefore make the service and process reusable, which largely improve the productivity of the business.

Abstract:With the development of multimedia networking technologies and the popularity of mobile handheld devices, the requirements of receiving and watching multimedia on the handheld devices become stronger. However, due to the limited bandwidth of wireless networks and the capability of the handheld devices, the current streaming technologies cannot be used directly for transmitting multimedia for handheld devices in wireless environment. This paper suggests a multimedia adaptor for mobile handheld devices. The adaptor can adjust the media streaming to the handheld devices according to the user’s requirements and the capabilities of the devices, as well as the status of the wireless networks. Test results shows that the media adaptor can satisfy the user’s requirements and utilize the networks better.

Abstract:Photo Mosaic is an exciting art form made from thousands of small pictures, placed in patterns like original mosaics made from colored cells, but each cell is an actual photo. This application is a little program for to create mosaic made with photos with two different algorithms, one is Mean-Variance and another one is Cauchy-Schwarz Inequality.

Abstract:Characteristics of tongue pose the most important information for Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. So far, extensive studies have been made on extracting tongue surface features, but rarely refer to sublingual vein that is also diagnostically important. This paper focuses on establishing a feature quantization framework for the inspection of sublingual veins, composed of two parts: the segmentation of sublingual veins and the feature quantization of them. Adaptive sublingual vein segmentation algorithm and pixel-based sublingual vein segmentation algorithm for sublingual images with low contrast and visible contrast are proposed respectively. The experiments prove that the proposed methods perform well on the segmentation of sublingual images with both low contrast and visible contrast between sublingual veins and tongue proper. And then, a chromatic system in conformity with diagnostic standard of Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors is established to describe the chromatic feature of sublingual veins. Experimental results show that the distance and chromatic features quantized by the proposed framework are properly consistent with the diagnostic standard summarized by TCM doctors.

Abstract:The Sublingual Vein Diagnosis, one part of Tongue Diagnosis, plays an important role in deciding the healthy condition of humans. So far, extensive studies have been made on extracting tongue surface features, but rarely refer to sublingual vein that is also diagnostically important. This paper presents two approaches to segment the sublingual veins taking the color features of sublingual images into consideration. Experimental results show that, sublingual vein structures can been successfully mapped for 129 out of 150 patients and healthy subjects, when utilizing u component and S component for segmentation, and the average segmentation rate is up to 86%.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a generic wireless network topology model, namely, Dynamic Multi-hop Infrastructure Network (DMIN). First, we describe its self-organization, adaptation to dynamic changes and routing algorithm. Secondly, an extended model DMIN-U is introduced to support unidirectional links between wireless nodes. To support wireless home networking (WHN), we investigate the issues across the physical, MAC and routing layers based on the DMIN topology model. Finally, we present simulation results that show the proposed DMIN model and its routing algorithm is more suitable for WHN as compared to MANET with AODV and DSR routing algorithms.
