Abstract:Both the chemical potential modification on the Polyakov effectivepotential and the entanglement interactions between the Polyakov-loop and chiral condensate are considered to improved the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model (PNJL model), which is named the $mu$EPNJL model. Compared with the standard PNJL model, the calculation shows that the range of chiral symmetry phase transition is greatly enlarged in the modified model. The chiral symmetry restoration and deconfinement coincide in a wide range in the $T-mu$ phase diagram, and the critical end point moves towards a smaller chemical potential and higher temperature. Besides, the measurement of the moments of net-proton multiplicity distributions at Relativistic hints that some critical behaviors possibly exists, which also provides a constraint on the relevant model parameters.

Abstract:We report a method of high-sensitively detecting the weak signal in photoassociation (PA) spectra of ultracold NaCs molecules by phase sensitive-demodulated trap-loss spectra of Na atoms from a photomultiplier tube. We found that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the PA spectra is strongly dependent on the integration time and the sensitivity of the lock-in amplifier, and our results show reasonable agreement with the theoretical analyses of the SNR with the demodulation parameters. Meanwhile, we investigate the effect of the interaction time of PA laser with the colliding Na-Cs atom pairs on the SNR of PA spectra. The dynamical process of the atom loss rate is dependent on both the PA induced atom loss and the loading of the MOT. The high-sensitive detection of the excited ultracold NaCs molecules lays a solid foundation for further study of the formation and application of ultracold NaCs molecules.

Abstract:We report the successful growth of tetragonal FeS film with one or two unit cell (UC) thickness on SrTiO3(001) substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. Large lattice constant mismatch with the substrate leads to high density of defects in single UC FeS, while it has been significantly reduced in double UC thick film due to the lattice relaxation. The scanning tunneling spectra on the surface of FeS thin film reveal the electronic doping effect of single UC FeS from the substrate. In addition, at the Fermi level, the energy gaps of approximate 1.5 meV are observed in films of both thickness at 4.6 K and below. The absence of coherence peaks of gap spectra may be related to the preformed Cooper-pairs without phase coherence.

Abstract:A photonic approach to rapidly switch two microwave signals with different frequency or/and phase is proposed. We experimentally show that two microwave signals with a precise π phase difference at 21- and 29.425-GHz are successfully switched at the speed of 93.4-, 83.3-ps respectively.
