Abstract:The nonlinear refraction index n2 and the reverse saturation absorption (RSA) coefficient β of a series of hydroxylphenyl porphyrin have been measured using single beam Z-scan technique with a 8 ns laser pulse at 532nm and the third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) of the samples are calculated. It is seen that a series of hydroxylphenyl porphyrin have large value of the reverse saturation absorption and cubic nonlinear refraction. The effects of molecular structures on the third-order nonlinear optical properties were discussed. Experimental results show that the effects of different numbers and different positions of substituent to the nonlinear refraction of porphyrin are evident.

Abstract:The frequency-domain transmission-line equations for good metal transmission lines are derived in this paper. Such a general formula is very useful in order to analyze the characteristics of arbitrary transmission lines. And the hypothesis, i.e., the existence of non-zero diagonal parameters in the parameter matrix, made by Haase and Mei is validated partially through a sound theoretic derivation. The non-zero parameter takes into account the effects of discontinuity, radiation and higher modes of the lines.

Abstract:A multiple round quantum dense coding scheme based on the quantum phase estimation algorithm is proposed and implemented in a three- qubit nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) quantum computer. Using an $m+1$ qubit system, Bob can transmit one of $2^{m+1}$ messages to Alice, through manipulating only one qubit and exchanging it between Alice and Bob for $m$ rounds. The information capacity is enhanced to $m+1$ bits as compared to $m$ bits in a classical scheme. The scheme has been demonstrated in NMR system, and the experimental results show a good agreement between theory and experiment.

Abstract:A protocol for quantum secure direct communication with quantum super-dense coding is proposed. It combines the ideas of, block transmission, the ping-pong quantum secure direct communication protocol and the quantum super-dense coding. It has the advantage of being secure and of high source capacity.

Abstract:In the research of the nonlinear time series prediction, we apply the least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) to use. In order to improve the precision LS-SVM has been discussed in the following aspects. First, the parameterγand multi-step prediction capabilities of the LS-SVM network are investigated. Then we employ clustering method in the model to prune the number of the support values. The learning rate and the capabilities of filtering noise for LS-SVM are all greatly improved.
