Abstract:Using the configuration-interaction method based on the Hylleraas-Gaussian basis sets, the non-relativistic ground state energy of helium atom in zero magnetic field is improved to -2.9037235, which make it possible to take a full consideration of the effect of the finite nuclear mass. In this study, we investigate the energy levels of the ground state and some lower excited states states of the helium-4 atom in magnetic fields up to 10a.u. (1a.u. corresponding to 2.35*10^5T).

Abstract:The exchange energy of Li2, Na2, K2, Rb2, Cs2 are investigated by the surface integral method. The energy of all these systems are generated by the same analytical formula with parameters depending only on the properties of the atomic ionization energy. The results are generally in good agreement with experiment and ab initio results.
