Abstract:A highly efficient method for a highly regioselective hydrophosphination of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl derivatives catalyzed by the simple lanthanide amides [(Me3Si)2N]3Ln(μ-Cl)Li(THF)3 was developed. Results showed that the catalysts displayed a high regioselectivity on the addition of dialkyl phosphites to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl derivatives depending on the character of substrates. Results represent the first application of lanthanide amides as catalytsts for the highly regioselective hydrophosphination of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl derivatives.

Abstract:Treatment of the o-hydroxyaryl imidazolinium pro-ligands with the palladacycle [Pd(dmba)Cl]2 (dmba = Me2NCH2C6H5) afforded the corresponding aryloxide-NHC (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene)-ligated palladacycles (2-O-3,5-tBu2C6H2)(R)(NHC)Pd(dmba) [R = Me (4), iPr (5), Ph (6), Mes (7), tBu (8)]. When the N-functional group on the NHCs is tert-butyl, the NHC in 8 adopts an abnormal binding (C4-bonding). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis results further confirmed the molecular structures of 4-8 and the abnormal binding of NHC in 8.

Abstract:IGold and silver clusters, [Au2AgL2(CH3CN)2](PF6)3 (2, L = bis(N-pyridylimidazoliumyl)methane) and [Au4AgL4](PF6)5 (3), have been synthesized from [Ag3L2(CH3CN)2](PF6)3 (1) via transmetallation reactions, and their structures were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural with each other consisting of triangular metallic rings showing weak metal-metal interaction. Complex 3 is a chain compound with the silver atom located in between two Au2 units. All the complexes are luminescent in their solid states at room temperature. The cytotoxicities of the complexes were investigated by MTT assay. The results show that all these complexes are toxic to HuH7, C6, and A375 tumor cells, and the toxicity order is 1 > 2 > 3 consistent with the silver content in these complexes.

Abstract:Thermal treatment of the Si-H-functionalized cyclopentadienes (R’C5H4)SiHMeR [R’= H, R= Ph (1), PhCH2 (2); R’= t-Bu, R= Ph (3), PhCH2 (4)] with Ru3(CO)12 gave the Si-H bond activated cyclic complexes trans-[(RMeSi)(η5-R’C5H3)Ru(CO)2]2 [R’= H, R= Ph (7), PhCH2 (8); R’= t-Bu, R= Ph (10), PhCH2 (11)] with two Si-Ru bonds. A cyclopentenyl complex [(η2-C5H7)SiMe(CH2Ph)Ru(CO)3]2 (9) was also obtained from the reaction. But reactions of ligands (C5Me4H)SiHMeR [R= Ph (5), PhCH2 (6)] with Ru3(CO)12 only gave the cyclic complex [(PhMeSi)(η5-C5Me4)]Ru2(CO)6 (12) with one Si-Ru bond, and the desilylation product [(η5-C5Me4H)Ru(CO)2]2 (13). The molecular structures of 7, 9, 12, and 13 were determined by X-ray diffraction.

Abstract:The synthesis and characterization of bis(butoxycarbonylmethyl)(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline-N,N’)tin dibromide are reported. Its in vitro antitumour activity against two human tumour cell lines, WiDr, a colon carcinoma, and MCF-7, a mammary tumour, is higher than that of cisplatin.
