Abstract:The time delay signature (TDS) properties in ring network of three mutually coupled semiconductor lasers (MCSLs) are investigated quantitatively. The evolution pattern of TDS, which is quantified via the auto-correlation function, for ring network with identical coupling delays as well as with heterogeneous coupling delays are discussed and compared. The effects of coupling strength, frequency detuning and injection current are mainly examined. The parameter regions contributing to successful TDS concealment are identified. It is found that, three sets of chaotic signals with TDS concealment can be simultaneously generated in ring network of three MCSLs under certain condition, and the TDS is mainly affected by injection current and coupling strength, but is not so sensitive to the frequency detuning. To obtain low TDS, larger injection current and smaller coupling strength are desired. Besides, by intentionally introducing heterogeneous coupling delays in the ring network, the TDS can be better concealed in much wider parameter regions compared to the network with identical coupling delays, which is highly desirable for the chaos-based random bit generators.

Abstract:This paper introduces impulsive gain error result from mechanical limitation or device restriction in practical application. Our new impulsive control method includes control gain error with an acceptable boundary is more practically applicable than previous existing impulsive analytical approaches. A sufficient criterion for global exponential stability of impulsive control system is derived without the need for precise impulsive gain by estimating impulsive differential inequality. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.

Abstract:The hybrid projective synchronization for fractional-order chaotic systems with time-delay and uncertain perturbation is investigated in this paper. Adaptive sliding mode control method is proposed to synchronize the fractional-order chaotic and hyperchaotic systems under time-delay and uncertain perturbation. Stability is analyzed by using stability theorem of fractional calculus. The simulation results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Abstract:For a novel modified fractional-order Liu chaotic system, this paper studies the circuit simulation for this system and its synchronization. Based on the approximation theory of fractional-order operator, an electronic circuit is designed to describe the dynamic behavior of the modified fractional-order system firstly, and then the synchronization between two identical fractional-order Liu systems is designed by given circuit. Our results are supported by numerical simulation and circuit implementation.

Abstract:The hidden Markov processes (HMP) have been shown to be related to Cantor set which is a typical fractal. Statistical methods have been introduced to compute the multifractal spectrum of HMPs, and an example of applying the methods on a binary hidden Markov process was provided. The multifractal spectrum is a very useful tool for evaluating parameters and output of HMPs.
