Abstract:Nano-sheet polypyrrole/reduced graphene oxide (PPy/RGO) composites were prepared by in situ polymerization of the pyrrole monomer in the RGO uniform suspension. A homogeneous dispersion of individual graphene sheets coated by the PPy matrix was achieved. PPy and RGO formed a nano-sheets structure composite. Such nano-sheeets structure and the observed high electrical conductivities afforded high specific capacitance, good rate performance and cyclic stability. A high specific capacitance of 255.7 F g-1 was achieved for PPy/RGO-10. Furthermore, The PPy/RGO-10 electrodes have good cycle stability and show less than 8.5% specific capacitance decay at a charge/discharge current density of 2 A g-1 within an electrochemical window of 0.9 V after 2000 cycles.

Abstract:In this paper, we prepare nano-sheet N-doped carbon synthesized by direct carbonization of synthetic polypyrrole/reduced graphene oxide (PPy/RGO). This carbon presents a high-level nitrogen-doped (2.4%) and excellent electronic conductivity (26.2 S cm-1) and a nano-sheet framework which is conducive to the electrolyte infiltration and ions transport and adsorption. The supercapacitor electrochemical behaviors imply that high specific capacitances of 201.6 F g-1 and 130.7 F g-1 can be obtained in 1 M Na2SO4 at 0.2 and 16 A g-1, and large capacitance retention ratios of 94.0% and 97.9% can be observed after 5000 cycles at higher current density of 1 A g-1 and 5 A g-1, which can be attributed to the high electronic conductivity and well surface wettability. The remarkable capacitance and stability performance suggest that the as-prepared carbon offers excellent potential for supercapacitor electrodes.

Abstract:To prevent potential interferences from existing wireless systems including WiMAX and WLAN service, a triple band-notched ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna is presented. Firstly, the band-notches in WiMAX and WLAN bands are realized by inserting a quarter-wavelength open-ended slot in the radiating patch and adding half-wavelength C-shaped strips near the feed line respectively. Then a triple band-notched UWB antenna is presented by embedding a slot in the patch and adding strips near the feed line simultaneously. Due to weak coupling between band-rejected elements, we can finely modulate any notch band by altering the relevant element without influence on others. The simulation and measurement results show that the proposed triple band-notched UWB antenna achieves a wide bandwidth with band-rejected filtering properties in the WiMAX and WLAN bands. Analysis of the approach is illustrated to verify its advantage of notch-frequency independent tunability.

Abstract:The inductance of a thin film inductor with magnetic core is much less than μ'(magnetic core's permeability) times that of inductor without magnetic core due to the complicated magnetic structure in the scaled-down magnetic elements. Therefore, it is very important to optimize the magnetic structure in the micrometer sized magnetic elements for improving the inductance value of the thin film inductor with magnetic core.. In this paper, the magnetization dynamics and magnetic structure have been investigated by creating an additional internal boundary in the micrometer sized magnetic element using micromagnetic simulation method. The simulated results show that the permeability of micromagnetic core can be promoted 32.5% than that of magnetic element with no slits when the slits are added in the middle of magnetic element. It opens a new way to improve the dynamic high frequency characteristics of micrometer sized magnetic element, which can be used in a thin film inductor.

Abstract:A Zinc Oxide (ZnO) field emitter based backlight unit with a gated structure was fabricated by screen-printing processes. The measured anode field emission current density reaches 0.62 mA/cm2 when the applied gate voltage is 570 V. Part of the anode current was contributed by the secondary electron emission which was excited from the MgO layer inside the gate apertures on the gate plate. The average emission current density and luminance is 0.47 mA/cm2 and 1250 cd/m2 respectively with a fluctuation of about 10% during the 1000 minutes measurement. The gated structure also showed good electron beam focusing property which was examined by a finite element method calculation. The driving performance of the backlight unit is characterized by Spice simulation tools and also measured by the oscilloscope. Stable field emission, line-by-line scanning and fast response characteristics of the backlight unit indicate its promising application in the liquid crystal displays.

Abstract:In this paper, an anaberrational lenticular lens for autostereoscopic display is proposed. A single lenticular lens for autostereoscopic three dimensional display is a tranditional method, but it results in serious aberration. To overcome this problem, the anaberrational lenticular lens is designed. The simulation verify that the proposed anaberrational lenticular lens could reduce aberration and display better than tranditional single lenticular lens in image quality.

Abstract:Etched aluminum foils covered with bismuth titanium oxide Bi4Ti3O12 (BTO) by sol-gel coating has been studied. There were some “whiskers” of metallic luster on the surface after thermal treatment under some special conditions. The “whiskers” were verified as Bi and Al via scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), which can react with borate solution. The effects of technological parameters such as heat-treatment temperature T, precursor concentration C, and heating rate V have been explored. It is shown that the formation difficulty of Bi and Al increases with the T, C and decreases with V.

Abstract:A high stable, reproducible and water-based bismuth titanate (BTO) sol system has been synthesized by an aqueous sol-gel method. First bismuth nitrate was dissolved in acetic acid, and then it was mixed with a solution of lactic acid dissolved tetra-n-butyl titanate, subsequently, water was added to adjust sol concentration. The obtained sols or gels were characterized by Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometer (UV), differential thermal analysis and thermo-gravimetry (TG-DTA), in-situ Raman, and high-temperature X-ray diffraction (HT-XRD). Results show that the BTO sol can keep stable for more than one year and completely convert into BTO at 533℃.
