The clad copper-steel wire was manufactured by our clad-bonding equipment. The microstructure and mechanical properties of pure copper clad Q195 steel wire were studied in this paper. The results show that the microstructure of the cladding wire by drawing at room temperature is vimineous grain as fibril shape from prime equiaxed grain. The fibril length is in direct proportion to square of deformation and the fibril diameter is in inverse proportion to deformation. The ultimate tensile strength of the cladding wire by drawing at room temperature goes up in direct proportion to square root of deformation, and the elongation of the cladding wire comes down. The microstructure of cladding wire under annealing at 650°C becomes fine equiaxed grain, and the ultimate tensile strength comes down and the elongation comes up again.
Keywords:clad copper-steel wire, microstructure, mechanical property
