Indoor Positioning for Location Based Service (LBS) is required in various applications, such as emergency first-aid, store automation, large building management and others. However, compared to communication supplement system, current satellite navigation systems like GPS and Beidou cannot cover indoor environment well as satellite signals are unable to penetrate multi-walls. This paper introduces research on utilization of indoor supplement antennae in mobile communication system to realize indoor positioning for LBS. The propagation of indoor positioning signals was analyzed by establishing indoor signal fading model Multi-floors Routing Loss Model (MRLM). Considering the difference of positioning and communication, effects of current indoor antennae distribution were simulated in matlab and actual test was accomplished as well. The results demonstrate that indoor antennae satisfies positioning demand basically where indoor LBS can be provided based on current communication supplement system in large scale with low cost upgrade. |
