Researches on pedestrian-bridge interaction are not enough. In this paper, the pedestrian-induced lateral forces on a bridge are modelled as a sum of an equivalent static force exerted by pedestrians on rigid surface and a self-excited force due to an interaction between the pedestrian and the vibrating bridge. The dynamic balance equation is first established for the pedestrian-bridge interaction system. And then a new explicit integration method is applied to solve the equation with an iteration algorithm, computation procedures based on MATLAB are introduced simultaneously. In the case study at last, it is demonstrated that the new explicit integration method is absolutely reliable and there is nearly no difference between interaction and no interaction simulation in low crowd density, but big difference in high crowd denstiy.
