Aptamers offer unique advantages in terms of wide range of targets, high affinity and specificity, and have been widely used in many fields such as basic research, disease diagnosis, and drug development. Nanomaterials, due to their nanoscale sizes, shapes and structures, exhibit a variety of features such as large specific surface area and new properties of optical, magnetic, thermal and electrical performance. Hence, aptamer-conjugated nanomaterials composed of aptamers and nanomaterials combine both benefits, enabling high-specificity detection of biological targets in complex environments. This review summarizes the characteristics of various highly efficient aptamer-conjugated nanomaterials detection platforms and their advantages in detection of biotargets in recent years, and demonstrates their potential for biological detection and disease diagnosis.
Keywords:analytical chemistry; aptamer; nanomaterials; biosensor
