Compared with the traditional three-phase induction motor, multiphase induction motor not only has the characteristics of high efficiency and high power density, but also has the advantages of small torque ripple and strong anti-interference. Therefore, it has been paid great attention in the application of electric ship propulsion, aircraft drive, locomotive traction and high-power industry. In this paper, a 15kw five-phase induction motor is taken as the research object. Based on Maxwell electromagnetic field theory, the two-dimensional electromagnetic transient field model of five-phase induction motor is established by using finite element simulation software, and solving the problem of the magnetic density, torque and electromagnetic loss of the motor under different working conditions.
Keywords:Five phase induction motor; lack of phase failure; Torque calculation; Loss calculation
