In multi-level HMIPv6 networks, the handover performance greatly depends upon selection of the MAP[2][7][8][9]. This paper proposes a novel MAP selection scheme based on minimal average handover delay (MAHD-MS). By analyzing the handover procedure and modeling the mobility pattern of mobile nodes, we deduce an equation for estimating the average handover latency, and then design the procedure of MAHD-MS scheme. Through extensive simulations with NS-2 simulator, we demonstrate the effectiveness of MAHD-MS scheme. |
