In the analysis of DNA sequence, this paper introduces a method: stationary m-order Markov chain to study codon locations, from which the estimators of parameters can be obtained via its MLE. This paper gives a description of the exact distribution of the distance between codon occurrences along a DNA sequence and an asymptotic distribution of codon count through the Gaussian distribution.
