In this paper, the unsteady flow of a viscoelastic fluid with the fractional derivative Maxwell model in rectangular tube is studied. The exact solutions are then obtained for the equations characterizing flows of such fluids under an arbitrary pressure gradient by the method of integral transforms (Fourier cosine transform and Laplace transform). Two special cases are discussed: flow due to a constant pressure gradient and flow due to a periodic one.
