In this paper, three channel estimation methods including least square (LS) estimation method, linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) estimation method and low rank minimum mean square error (Lr-MMSE) estimation method are considered for Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based cooperative diversity systems with multiple Amplify-and-forward (AF) relays over frequency-selective fading channels. Furthermore this paper gives an approximate bit error rate (BER) analysis based on Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) and Equal Gain Combining (EGC) that assumes perfect time synchronization. At last, the paper analyses the impact of different parameters on the performance of estimator, such as time delay, relay gain.
