To improve handling capacity of ports, expansion of land by reclamation along the coast is becoming more prevalent in many ports, such as the Jeddah Islamic Port, Saudi Arabia. There usually exists liquefaction potential of thick and soft clay deposits which needs to be eliminated. Here, the in-situ liquefaction potential is evaluated using CPT.
