To analysis influences under various fault conditions, a fault model of Flux-Switching Permanent Machine (FSPM) under stator winding shorted turn which can be used for a performance assessment of a diagnostic algorithm is presented. For fault conditions of FSPM, turn-to-turn fault and phase-to-phase fault in stator winding are considered in this paper. Even though the conventional d-q coordinate system can be used to construct the model of FSPM, but d - q coordinate system will have a great error under faults. To overcome this limitation, a fault model of FSPM is derived using multi-loop theory. Inductor parameters are obtained by finite element analysis. The accurate fault model provided in this paper lays the foundation for fault diagnosis.
