We investigate spin squeezing of a two-mode boson system with aJosephson coupling. An exact relation between the squeezing and thesingle-particle coherence is discovered, which provides an indirectway to measure the squeezing by readout the coherence in atomicinterference experiments. We prove explicitly that the squeezing isjust along the z axis, indicating the appearance ofnumber-squeezed state. Power laws of the strongest squeezing and theoptimal coupling with particle number N are obtained based upon awide range of numerical simulations.
