The mathematical model of adaptive dispersals for mutant individualsis proposed to simulate the phenomenon that biological individuals migrate to responseto habitat quality. Using the regular and singular perturbation techniques, we findstrategies by which mutant individuals win or lose the competition with resident individuals through evolutionary migrations. The conditions for the coexistence of mutantindividuals and resident individuals are also established on the basis of persistence theory.
