In cognitive radio networks, spectrum sensing is a key technology that enables cognitive radio (CR) users to opportunistically access the spectrum resources of the primary networks. To reduce the interference and enhance the throughput of the CR networks, a joint optimal sensing and transmission time scheme is proposed and analyzed based on modeling the interference. A more accurate interference model is analyzed through renewal theory. Theoretical and simulation results show that the proposed allocation scheme has higher data throughput with the constraint interference.
Keywords:cognitive radio networks; interference model; spectrum sensing; renewal theory
