This paper is concerned with standing waves of the Davey-Stewartson system in $mathbb{R}^2$ by the profile decomposition theory.A precisely condition for the existence of stable standing waves for the Davey-Stewartson system is obtained, which removes the uniqueness assumption of the ground statesin Ohta's results.
Keywords:Davey-Stewartson system; profile decomposition; orbital stability.
