| With the extensive use of smart phones, mobile Internet has witnessed an explosive development with seas of users accessing from cellular-based mobile networks. However, it exists some security issues in mobile Internet, especially about the WAP gateway which is a bridge to link mobile networks with Internet. In this paper, after analyzing the risks and the principle of attacks on the WAP gateway in mobile network architecture, we propose two kinds of attack behavior targeting WAP gateway. One attack may be that the attackers use large quantity of invalid addresses to cause DDOS attack on gateway, thus, the normal users would not work well. The other one may be utilizing forged or fake addresses to occupy the resources of the gateway and DNS, and also result in them attack each other. Based on the real data collected from a mobile carrier, we proved the existence of the attack on the WAP gateway. |
