The construction of generalized Fibonacci zone plates (GFiZPs) is proposed. This allows us to engineer the focusing properties with additional freedom compared to Fibonacci zone plates (FiZPs) and Cantor-type fractal zone plates (FraZPs). In comparison with FraZPs, GFiZPs are constructed with inflation rule instead of extraction rule, thus avoiding sparse structures at high recursion orders. Similar to FraZPs, numerical simulations show that GFiZPs possess both multi-foci and self-similarity properties. Furthermore, axial irradiance of GFiZPs generated from different structural parameters was investigated in detai.
