A U-shape microchannel combining inertial separation and acoustofluidics at the same time is shown to separate particles of different sizes. The function relationship between the lateral migration of particles and some parameters is deduced by dimensional analysis. Numerical studies in Fluent are consequently conducted to confirm this relationship. The result shows that the distant that the particles traverse the channel and the cube of the flow velocity of the fluid have a linear relation. This distance also has a linear relation with the diameter of the particle. These relationships will not only provide help for particle separation in the U-shape microchannel, but also gives a further understanding of particle motion in curved channel.
