DRC (Ductile cast iron segment and Reinforced Concrete) segment has been widely used in the projects, because it performs high capacity in the lining of underground drain shield tunnels which is subjected to high inner water pressure and is used to prevent waterlogging. Generally, combined bending, axial and shear forces will occur in the composite segment under inner water pressure. But it is difficult to clarify and understand the mechanical behaviors of DRC segment all by experiments. Therefore, the numeric calculation model of DRC segment under inner water pressure were established in this paper by using numercial method based on the existing laboratory tests. And the mechanical behaviors of DRC segment were investigated with the help of numerical simulation. Comparisons between analyzed and experimental results indicate that the proposed numerical model can effectively simulate DRC segment under inner water pressure and is suitable for general analysis of DRC segment. And the results can provide some references for the design and construction of similar composite segment.
Keywords:numercial analysis; mechanical behavior; DRC segment; inner water pressure
