This paper presents a novel wideband dual-polarized antenna for 2G/3G/4G, WLAN and WiMAX base station applications. By using the curve parasitic elements and vertically-extruded square ring, wide impedance bandwidth and stable radiation patterns are obtained. Both measured and simulated results show that the proposed antenna achieves 77.5% impedance bandwidth (VSWR<2) from 1.69-3.83 GHz, with a port isolation higher than 23 dB. Moreover, stable radiation patterns with a peak gain of 7 dBi - 9 dBi, a cross polarization under -17 dB and a front-to-back ratio better than 15 dB are obtained across the operating band.
Keywords:wideband antenna; dual-polarized antenna; base station antenna
